The microphones on these Jabra's a lightyears ahead of the built-in phone ones, which allows you to walk around a room talking in any direction, and it has really great background noise reduction.
If you're spending lots of time on the phone or in meetings, it really steps up your own experience as well as that of the people you collaborate with.
But of course, not everyone needs this.
OP is indicating headset and holding phone, so his use case is clearly individual use or WFH for his own needs. Dedicated speaker seems to be an overkill for the use case.
A dedicated speaker with omnidirectional microphones has been a godsend for WFH for me 😅 But perhaps not for everyone.
@sbcbakedbeans: Yep, that's my use case - and (physically) attending meetings where phone speaker just doesn't cut it. But everyone's different and entitled to their own opinion - and everyone has a different need.
These are pretty good in terms of what you can get these days. Nothing on the market these days will come close to the Plantronics P420 I had and lost, but good luck finding one.

I keep this one around at work. Great for situations where a bunch of people gather for an online meeting with no AV equipment and everyone’s computer audio is fighting each other.
