    im just guessing these are all grey imports and warranty would be near the zero percentile if the smelly stuff hit the fan…

    yup, its the usual Kogan warranty (not a manufacturer one), they scrounge you a replacement thats prolly not quite as fudged as the one you got and tell you to live with it…..
