If ur undies are tearing within a year either they not good quality or u need to buy more than one pair smh

    • +34

I literally buy a set of Kmart jocks every couple of years for the price of one pair of step ones on special. Marketing hype works yo. I am a big boy who lifts and runs too.

        • +8

I literally powerlift lol. You buying the hype bro

            • +12

@easternculture: I’ll just add that you are now not only paying for premium jocks that no one sees but you are wasting additional time begging them for new pairs cause yours are falling apart …

                • +16

@easternculture: Or buy some undies 5 for $20 from Kmart. Wear once a week while lifting big things, trail running and regular life. Have no dramas for 2-3 years without begging the vendor to replace their faulty low quality trash. 🤷‍♂️

                    • +3

@easternculture: You don’t have to - you beg for new pairs before they get a chance to prove if they are worth it. How would you even know the quality difference

                      • -7

                        @thefud: Lol @ beg.
Its my comsumer right when they advertise 1 year warranty.

                        • +4

@easternculture: Yes I too purposefully go out of my way to pay for overpriced clothing to wear them out in under 12 months and beg for new clothing as opposed to buying quality items for a fraction of the price. You do you serf.

                            • +7

@easternculture: Why u so desperately not wearing clothes from best & Less, etc? Who cares.

                              • -5

@miasommers: Why would you when you can buy brands at same price or cheaper. You just looking in wrong places.

I understand that some people may have financial constraints but ive also noted many people are too lazy to even try and find good deals.

@easternculture: Most people are just too lazy to change underwear in general..

I'm still wearing the same pair from when I went to a Limp Bizkit concert a decade ago..

                                  • +3

@WasBargain: Hopefully you’ve washed them inbetween the concert and today.

                                      @JimB: Define "wash".

I go to the local pool a handful of times a year if that's what you're asking..

                                  • +4

@WasBargain: Your pair been stained by your chocolate starfish and hotdog flavored water?

                                      @jayz: Very much so.

Butt it adds character I think.

                            • +14

@easternculture: I’m sorry but your comments are so far removed from reality that I had to comment. Quality is not related to price and the fact you believe that already means you’ve got to check yourself. I buy my shirts and polos from Gucci and the quality is worse than Kmart and TML/CT are orders of magnitude better. But I buy it because I like it and I accept that. I’ve spent literally thousands finding the best underwear and my favourite are the ones made of MicroModal Max by Tani but it got too annoying having to import them from America making it like $120/pair and they’d last 3 months at best because the material was too soft to last. Now I use debrief because it lasts at least a year (so far) and is almost as soft. These are sacrifices I’m willing to make because of my comfort/preference. My gym clothes come from Kmart because it’s objectively better, lasts longer and cost is disposable (for me).

I understand that Step One seems to fit your use case, but you can’t shill and say it’s the best underwear ever for that reason. Perfection doesn’t really exist, you just have to optimise for the use case.

                            • +2

@easternculture: Mate I just got a pair of chino shorts from target that are better quality and much much cheaper than any of the “expensive” +$100 chino shorts I own.

Nothing wrong with good cheap shit
Undies. Who gives a (profanity) just get a cheap pack and replace every few years

                    • @easternculture: Odd flex.

I have no issues with the price of the undies but what’s the deal with wearing undies that you bought more than a year ago assuming they haven’t worn out and elastics are still tight?

FYI, I do have more than 1 pair, so rotate them once a week or so.

                    • +3

@easternculture: just turn them inside out. then you get two years ; )

                • +4

@easternculture: Why are you wrestling with people at a checkout?

                  • -2

                    @furiousgeorge: My area bro.
The one time in years i go to kmart to buy something for inlaws at their request.

          • @thefud: Also do squats and RDL/SDL and never had this problem. Bonds/CK/etc lasting years.

          • @thefud: Good on you, jock. We get it you work out

          • @thefud: They have the perfect incontinence jocks for you. No more will you need to clench your cheeks together after a big lift, and embarrassingly shuffle to the bathroom at the gym.

        • +22

Bought 5 on sale and each pair got replaced 3 times for free.

EACH PAIR. GOT REPLACED. THREE TIMES.

And you’re shilling for this company? Cause it was a free replacement? Hiyaaaa

You can replace underwear, but you know what you can’t replace? Time. Just get a good pair of undies and be done with it.

          • @SlifSlif: I would but these are most comfortable after trying nearly all brands.

Ive tried cheap bamboo and find it curls and folds between the legs.
The good thing about step one that it retains its form at all times. Again YMMV depending on your body shape.

          • @SlifSlif: It's similar to a bottomless brunch, bottomless pants.

          • @SlifSlif: Sorry, but you are doing it wrong (what ever you are doing??!!)

      • Post Cutler quad stomp.

I've wasted far too long on this thread already

      • +3

Fellow lifter here. Could you share a link to the kmart ones you get pls? I have step ones but would love a cheaper alternative.

      • +1

mate, i got commando so no contests there.

however, having tried alot of pairs for a big bloke that has thigh chaffe, sweat ect.. these are truley by far the best undiers you can get anywhere, so i have 8 pairs of them.

i used to have the kmart ones, but their nots as good, not at all.

        • +1

What happens to your skid marks if you go commando?

In fact, no need to answer.

The response to that question would be as pointless as the time the posters above have wasted returning serve on this thread.

  • +1

No discount showing for me - it definitelyauto applies at cart?

    • Had the same issue. According to the T&C's the sale actually kicks off on Tuesday 24th

      • What one are you buying. I click the link and get directed to a banner ad that says 50% off. Click that and it works.

Only off an order of 1 pair though.

  • +7

Again alibaba and aliexpress sell the exact same for 1/5th the price. Down side of getting your product made in a factory that can just duplicate lol

    • +4

      Step One - New Tab
      Step Two - aliexpress.com
      Step ??? - $$ Profit $$

    • +4

Do you mind sharing a link?

      • See my comment below.

    • +1

      Care to share a link?

    • +1

They aren't on aliexpress. Trust me. I've looked.

The deal posted recently included a close replica, but they don't have the lycra panels.

For those of you saying "kmart are the same". They are, but only the specific anti-ride ones. Not the ones that come in multipacks. Also not in the colour range that stepone has (if that's important to you).

      https://www.kmart.com.au/product/anti-ride-mid-length-bamboo…

Other than Kmart. Anti ride ones that I've tried (ie with the lycra) are- Perfect underwear company, Frank and Beans and Tackle. Tackle are good, but not much cheaper than step ones.

      • +1
        • Going to be very hard to buy in any reasonable quantity I think

        • +1

No. I initially responded that Alibaba listings require hundreds of orders and that they don't ship in smaller quantities. Once I looked at your link I realised that they do offer shipping of lower numbers so retracted my comment.

    • link pls

    • There is no link because similar doesn't exist on AliExpress. Anything decent looking is around the same price as this offer when you add shipping.

The best cheap version would be the Kmart bamboo ones.

  • +1

Don’t seem to be getting any discount in cart???

  • 4.5" inseam on the trunks seems a lot longer than other brands?

    • +1

It is and the extra length is fantastic.

      • +1

Each to their own, it's a deal breaker for me.

        • Yeah I got a few and wear.mostly gym shorts casually. Not short or long ones and these just appear, worse if sitting.

I bought some Ali express ones that are similar from another post and they are even longer.

      • Wait till you try their sports boxers

  • +6

People rag on these, but I've got a weeks worth in rotation and they still look new 6 months later, including absolute floggings on hikes. Dunno what y'all do to shred them up so quickly.

Only negative I have is that they can be slow to dry.

    • Probably x 2 leg days weekly lol

      • Probably poor form.. 😅

I, at one point, took the leg day meme too far and infact, EVERYday was leg day for like 3 months..

But don't think I went through a lot of underwear.. Even with the daily 1 hour treadmill (full incline) warmups.

        • Wait y'all wear underwear during leg day????

      • +1

I do that and my aussiebums are 5-7 years old with no holes. Good underwear shouldn't fall apart in a few months.

    • +4

All my Step Ones have lasted at least a year, most much more.

The common failure point is the stitching between the Lycra and the bamboo closest to ya penis. It's the only part for that that has failed, and only after a year or more.

I'm a big guy in 5XL though, dunno if that's part of it.

They are incredibly comfortable though. Nothing else compares.

      • Big 🍆 energy

        • +4

Can confirm that's definitely not the case. 🤣

          • -1

@BradH13: Not the case with energy or not the case with the big penis?

    • +1

Same, i replaced my wardrobe with them and I'm only now starting to notice the lycca/thin material becoming abit thinner in some of my 2+ year old ones, no holes or tears in any pairs though.

I've only just ordered some equivalent pairs off of aliexpress just to test the quality & see if they really are the same product.

  • +2

The discount worked if I only had 1 pair in cart

  • +5

Looks like the discount is only for 1 pair - a flat rate $17.50 discount. Add any more and the discount is shared across each pair.

    • Yeh seems a auto discount code applied to cart worth $17.50

  • +1

only for 1 pair. it's $17.50 delivered which is a good price for these

  • I just went through the whole checkout process and it charged me full price to my credit card. Will be sending them an email

    • +4

Emailed customer service and they refunded half

  • +4

    these have gone to shit

    • Why?

      • +6

I would agree that the quality is not there anymore. I've still got some of my step ones 3-4 years after purchasing but the ones I purchased in the last 2 years don't seem to last as long without developing holes, particularly around the band at the top.

The trick to making them last is to just have a large number of pairs to rotate. I agree that the quality of them is questionable, but for $17.50 delivered it's worth it IMO.

        • +1

If your a true Aussie bloke 7 pairs should last 14 days 😳😂

  • Doesn't work for me. Discount appears in cart but then disappears during checkout. Also got emailed a first-time customer 10% discount code - doesn't work.

  • +4

For $17.50 a boxer, I might pay a little extra for Lululemon's Always in Motion boxers. They are 79 for 3 which comes to 26.33 each. If you have a student discount, it is around $24 each. Those boxers are made out of Modal fabric. Modal is a better fabric than bamboo for sports, hiking, etc.

If you time it right, they sometimes have 5 boxers for $109 which comes out to be $21.8 prior to the student discount.

    • How do you get the student discount mate, is it through unidays?

      • Yep, unidays

        • Nice thanks.
