Lavazza by Saeco A Modo Mio Milan Coffeemaker $119.00 (Save 60%) at Myer While Stocks Last

170

Lavazza is the main consumer brand name capsule coffee machine to Nespresso. $119 comes with a built-in frothed. Excellent value. It says it expires Oct 21st, but is while stocks last as the Saecos are being discontinued and replaced by Electrolux machines (same capsules). 60% off is a massive bargain. Don't think I've seen it at that price before in Oz! Also, there's a 15% off capsules today (apparently it's today only). I got a machine today (comes with a box of 24 capsules worth over $20). Assuming that's all the coffee you use, it's A$5 per shot of coffee. After that, additional shots are around 75cents.

I got one at Myer Sydney (city) today. They are open til 9pm. Again, this is in the catalog, but I was told it's until whatever stocks they have left are sold - and a couple were sold already while I was there, so hurry if you want one. They also make great X'mas gifts. :)

There are also higher end Saeco machines at 60% off, but the coffee tastes the same - just more automation etc. I think the $119 deal is the best value of the lot!

Just be careful going to *amodomio.com.au, both Bing and Blue Coat are reporting a trojan hiding in the JS.

Not a pod fan, but looks like a nice deal for those who are.

I thought this would be designed for Lavazza capsules as opposed to Nespresso capsules?

So there is no milk frother?

    • +1

Yeah, is there a frother? How would u make cappacino without a milk frothing arm?

      • +1

1/3 full a slim cup of milk.
        microwave for 60 seconds.
use a standard small plastic plunger the width of the cup.
pump up and down 12 times.
        voila.

You can see the frother in the pic. Reviews here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lavazza-Italian-coffee-machine-CAPSU…

Basically, everyone who bought one that worked gave it 5 stars, and everyone else rated the build quality poorly. One reason to buy from a local distributor and not from overseas Amazon.

Additionally, if anyone wants a Candy Pink one, you can buy it directly from Saeco for $79+shipping: http://www.saecooutletshop.com.au/saeco-a-modo-mio-candy-pin…

      • Damm you for mentioning a pink machine… Now I think I want one…

    • Not a detached one. The steam pipe is on the right hand side, which is pretty handy.

thanks got a purple one… much needed for work…

  • Yeah I have one at work and one you get used to the thing, you can get an alright coffee out of it. Make sure you haven't too much preasure before doing an extraction. I think this unit as a small boiler in it so it is fairly quiet for work. Not a fan of the Nespresso though, coffee quality is poop. Have a real machine for home but this is a great work machine.

Milk frother has a bit of grunt for the size of the machine.

    Enjoy.

  • Any good deals/suppliers for the pods?

Are they compatible with any other types?
