Apple One: Individual INR₹195/Month (~A$3.58), Family INR₹365/Month (~A$6.69) @ Apple (India Apple ID & Amazon Req)

920

Apple One signed up with an Indian account, can not be family shared with AU account. The only thing that can be shared with AU account is iCloud storage.

It's a good deal for Apple TV / non Apple/ iPhone users to be able to access Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Apple TV Plus, while also being able to share iCloud plus storage with their AU account.

Apple one is not available in Türkiye

  1. Set up an Indian Apple ID using your AU number to verify.

  2. Login into an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, using an Indian Apple ID.

  3. Buy Apple gift cards from Amazon India using your AU amazon account. Enter an Indian address (make sure indian address is selected, otherwise gift cards will show as out of stock) and use a virtual card from Wise.

  4. Sign up to Apple One via settings.

  5. Login on your Apple TV as a second account and enjoy all the services for a lesser price.

You can also share the iCloud store with your AU Apple ID via Family Sharing.

  • Dang that is cheap!

Was always against paying Apple one but now part of a shared family account with other ozb members. iCloud for photos is handy AF, and Apple Music is great. Arcade is still kinda soso.

Shame about the lack of the Premiere tier (you get 2TB split amongst the 'family' and Fitness+).

    • +2

Yeah I was keen for that too as need >200gb iCloud data.

    • Where did you see the 2TB plan?

      • There's no Premiere (2TB) plan for Apple India.

        Here's AU

        • Would be good if they had 2TB

          • @nightelves: You could subscribe to a additional iCloud 2TB plan.

            Works out to be ~AUD14.20/month.

            But I can't be bothered.

Less hassle to jump onto an Apple One Premiere plan people advertise here in Classifieds.

    • What tiers in i dia?

    • Any Indian deals on the new 6 and 12TB storage options?

      • Nope, they are same price as in Australia

        • Shame. I'm paying I think $43 a month for Premier One and though the 2TB is cover us for now, one of the family is building up a huge collection of photos and videos. The monthly price to upgrade to 6TB is quite yuge, $44.99 for 6TB and $89.99 for 12TB. Of course if the other members don't need that extra space they won't want to pay, so I guess when we hit 2TB I'll have to help her backup the videos somewhere else.

    • oooh thanks for that. was definitely looking forward to this

  • +1

Thank you OP for sharing. Cheers!

Seriously looking into this, but do you get Apple Music India? or can you still get Apple Music (AU) ?

    • +1

Apple Music is the same. You get access to all the songs regardless of whether you are subscribed to Apple Music via Indian ID or AU ID.

      • No, you will get recommend songs and charts in the region of your account. Also, some songs is not available due to copyright in that region.

    • +1

Yes, but all the songs sound like this https://youtu.be/Zs_9x5daaMI?t=8

  • do i have to keep topping up every month?

    • Not if you top up enough for few months/years in one go.

  • I tried to buy the Apple Store Code from https://www.amazon.in/hfc/bill/apple_store_codes but the order got cancelled after they charged my card, why?
I tried both Revolut and Wise cards.

If I set this up as family sharing to my AU account - what is the risk of getting banned or data loss due to T&Cs? I'm heavily invested in the apple eco system and it would be bad if I lost my services.

    • +1

      Yeah wondering too

    • I have been using Indian Account for more than 2 years, whenever I need to download apps that are not available in Indian Apple Store I switch to AU account just to download the app and switch back to Indian Account , so far I haven't faced any issues

      • Account switching would probably annoy me a bit too much :-D
I'd rather setup an Indian family account and she the services to my AU account.

        • This is the trick that @I Smell Pennies shared in the deal I linked in my comment below.

Wondering if this can work on Indian account too, i.e. setup an Indian account as "family member" and have that account sign up to all their services then share with me.

          • +1

@suchan: Overseas apple services can not be family shared to AU account. Only iCloud membership can be shared overseas.

            • @Pricebeat: Ah - bumper. Apple seems to be smarter than others companies. Darn

              • @Skullytor: Other companies look the other way. They know it's that or nothing.

Apple knows it can shake down it's customers to pay whatever they like.

    • I seem to be the only one, but my Indian account was deactivated as a result. I got it back and it happened again soon after. Did the same thing but never truly came back, I couldn't sign in.

Anyway, will now likely go down the route of family plan locally in Australia. Setting up my music library in Apple Music was a pain.

      • My account was just deactivated I think. Getting “Apple ID is not active” when trying to sign in. How did you get it back?

  • Do we have something like this for Disney?

I have previously setup my Apple account by moving to Turkey using this long running deal

    Available Plans:

Subscription Plan TR Pricing (TL) / India INR₹ AU Conversion (AUD) AU Pricing (AUD) Savings (AUD) % Saving
    iCloud+ 50GB ₺12,99 A$0.74 A$1.49 A$0.75 50%
    iCloud+ 200GB ₺39,99 A$2.29 A$4.49 A$2.20 49%
    iCloud+ 2TB ₺129,99 A$7.46 A$14.99 A$7.53 50%
    Apple One Individual ₹195 A$3.58 A$21.95 A$18.37 83%
    Apple One Family ₹365 A$6.69 A$28.95 A$22.26 76%

I am subscribed to the iCloud +200GB paying that amount montly at the moment. Maybe when my Turkey gift card runs out I might move to India instead :)

  • Do I have to sign out from my existing Apple ID and log in to the India Apple ID to subscribe to India Apple One? It seems if I sign out from my existing Apple ID, items in my wallet will be removed too. I want to use this subscription on my iphone.

  • Login into an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, using an Indian Apple ID.

I only have an old iPhone which I think I can use to do this step. Once I sign up to Apple One, would I still need an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch? Can I then just use Apple Music on my Android and iCloud on my old (intel based) MacBook Pro? Thanks.

  • Any geo pricing that is available with Apple's Fitness+ ?

  • Why need a wise card with amazon?

  • Why would anyone buy the family option if it can’t share?
    I’m confused

  • So, as an apple user with an AU account, I can NOT take advantage to this trick to get Fitness+ at a cheap price, right? The only benefit seems to me to be cheap icloud storage.

  • Will i be able to use 'Hide My Email', 'Private RElay' and 'Custom Email Domain' features? on the AU account phone?

  • If you share the Apple One invite via AirDrop then you don't need to have all accounts from India.

    • How does this work? Surely the Australian accounts don't get Music, TV, etc.?

      • +1

Have one account from India, then invite your other family member who's apple id is in Australia for example using AirDrop. Source

        • Does this still work?

          • @scavang3r: Not anymore

            • @FrugalDealSeeker: Damn. What's the error / limitation now?

              • @scavang3r: They will show up as a part of the family but when you open music or whatever you will be asked to pay/ use trial and everything will be in Australian. Since most of my family is in India anyway they had Indian account, my wife and i just created Indian apple accounts and a backup apple account for instances where some apps aren’t available.

  • I'm only interested in Apple music. Is it possible to get a cheap music account via India?

  • Any way to work around it asking for my UPI/Bank details when I try to subscribe?

EDIT: Had to add a valid address and select Deustch Bank as the payment method

    • i tried this but asks me to login to Deustch Bank which i don't have a login for, how did you get around this?

  • Signed up for Apple ID India, topped up with Apple Gift Card from Amazon IN, Setup Family Sharing, boom, Apple ID disabled. :-/

    • Yikes. No notification to you?

    • I'm in the same boat.

Trying to get it reactivated but the email advising it has been reactivated or whatever doesn’t come through.

I thought it might be my unique email address as I didn't really hear of anyone else getting the same issue, maybe not.

    • Called Apple support and they re-activated the account. I still cant get the family sharing working. My Aus account is the organiser (with other family members already in family sharing) so I’m guessing it wont work that way? Might have to make the IN account the organiser?

  • Is there another way to signup with apple stuff if I don't own an apple product?
I have iPad 2 from ages back, I tried doing it however it doesn't support some other softwares.

  • Is it possible to do this just for Apple Music? I don't care about anything else included with Apple One.

  • I just want Apple News.. shame it's not included :(

  • cant seem to add other AU account after setting up the Indian Apple ID and topping up with gift card. Keeps saying country and region does not match.

    Any workarounds?

  • Anyone sharing I would like to join please

  • I had some leftover Turkish Lira from using Spotify in Turkey before they shut that down.
I used the TRL to buy iTunes credit and use family icloud - it lasted a couple of months, then was mysteriously locked.
I seriously couldn't be bothered trying to get it unlocked.
Just be warned if you try to do this.
