  • Hotels only or apartments, motels etc as well booked through Expedia? Thanks.

    • I guess it depends how Expedia categorises it? There is a filter in the search function for "hotel" or "hotel resort"

  • How long does it take to track?
Booked about an hour ago still hasn't tracked

    • -2

Mine hasn't tracked yet and I booked 1hr 20 ago

Also booked a little over an hour ago - not tracked yet…

  • -1

No tracking either, don't want to book any more if there is a tracking issue.

    • It does say tracked within 5 days. With any cashback, it takes time to track, so you shouldn't expect it to be instanteous (good examples are like ebay or Amazon)

  • All my previous bookings took about 1 day to track.

  • Are you still eligibe if you partially pay with expedia points?

    • pretty sure it says any transaction with points is 0%

      • Mine tracked before using reward points

    • My previous booking during last deal tracked even with the use of some expedia points

      • Tracked is different from approved though. Does it get approved when points are used?

  • Need to do anything in particular to get the bonus westpac cashback, aside from using the card + paying now? Like, does the card need to be activated/set somewhere or an offer activated?

To receive Westpac bonus Cashback, you must add an eligible Westpac debit or credit card to your ShopBack account. You can do this both in app or on the website.

In app - Press account > linked payment methods > add a credit or debit card

      • Thanks for your help. Needed to book in some hotels today, saved maybe $75 with this on something that I would have been buying (via expedia no less) anyway :)

  • Anyone had any success checking out in the last 20 minutes, Ive tried two bookings, both just endlessly spin the wheel at the point that says its making the booking / no debit on westpac card

if there is an expedia or shopback rep on here can you pls pm me, Ive tried several bookings this afternoon 3.30-4.30 AEDT and the system is offline, so I havent been able to make then (endless spinning on the payment wheel when its trying to make your reservation). Live chat is "unhelpful" to say the least, however have confirmed the system hasnt made my reservations.

      • I also had these problems. I tried a different device and it magically worked

        • -1

Ive tried on both devices I have, same thing

          • +1

@LikezDaBargainz: Hmm that's annoying then. I guess the thing I did differently to my current two devices was that I cleared cache and all and logged in fresh on shopback on the 3rd device. Maybe use a new browser that you aren't already logged in and see if that helps?

@reivaxX: Thank you, cleared everything, rebooted and it worked. So weird. 2x booking done thanks to you kind sir.

    • No issue making two bookings within the last 30 minutes.

  • Had a comparison between booking.com (5.5) CB and expedia, not only are they less flexible with their reservations, but its actually significantly expensive (sometimes by more than 100). DYOR when you're booking through them!

Has anyone seen price increase as soon as you log into Shopback's plungin? Happened to me and I stopped using it since then.

    • +1

This happened to me on booking.com today, 12% cashback, but jacks the prices over 12%. This should be illegal. However I did not see the same on any of my expedia bookings I found, before I went thru shopback for cashback and post going thru shopback for cashback. So expedia seemed OK for me.

    • +1

Yes this happened to me when comparing hotels on Agoda and Booking.com as well.

After 5pm the discount is now down to 12%, still combinable with the Westpac bonus cashback.

  • 11 hours later, still hasn't tracked

  • Mine has tracked now including Westpac bonus. Booked 13hrs ago

  • Both of mine tracked in under 12 hours.
