Boost Mobile: $17.05 Cashback on $12 50GB 28-Day Prepaid SIM Starter Kit ($5.05 Profit) @ Cashrewards

3820

Hi guys. A Sunday special for the SIM lovers out there. Note this offer ends 10:30pm AEDT today (Sunday) at which time it reverts to $15.33 cashback until 7am tomorrow. For those with questions, @BargainsGrabber has a fabulous FAQ here that will help. Please also read my handy tips below before proceeding (orders are currently tracking to members within 15 minutes of purchase). If you're chasing a yearly plan, we have $50 cashback on the $300 SIM as well. Stay safe, and enjoy :)

  • Important: Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase.
  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.
  • You must return and click through Cashrewards for each new transaction.

Handy tips:

For tracking success, ensure you disable 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave, close any additional browser tabs, and don't click away to other sites looking for codes etc after clicking from Cashrewards as tracking will be lost. Cashrewards must be your last click before purchase. Just navigate to Boost via one of the two offers on Cashrewards and buy. Try our iOS/Android mobile app for great tracking results. Use our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions or issues.

Is this the highest profit EVER?!

    • +9

No, highest profit was $5.25 in March

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13530209/redir

      • Oh yeah I did purchase that time, so that makes this the second highest 😉

    • +2

The highest ever was actually $6, via ShopBack, but the mods deleted the deal I posted.

      • +2

@Reveen Was the deal ambiguous or did it finish early? You mentioned previously you received the $6 cashback.
$6 profit is a very generous offer and one would hope the mods checked it carefully.
ShopBack's t&cs are not always clear and they also end deals early. Better customer service and reliability with Cashrewards in comparison.

        • +1

Can confirm after the pizza hut cashback issues with shopback, that cashrewards support is WAY better

          • @Quarter Pounder: Sometimes it can work in your favour though - ShopBack paid me out on the September promo even though my order was refunded due to Pizza Hut's incompetence.

        • ShopBack with their typical slopiness didn't update one section with the new rate properly so I guess the mods felt it wasn't clear.

Hands down Cashrewards are a far more professional outfit.

  • Thanks TA & CR.

  • +4

@tightarse : Does the $50 CB stack with this promo code for the $300 pack? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/803936

Why is it so hard to troubleshoot being unable to buy one? Why is no one on this?

Are they purposefully trying to stop people who have bought many before?

    Just tried again now…

Different computer. Different IP address. Different person's name, dob, phone number (real person). Different delivery address. Different credit card details…

None of the details have been used to buy a Boost sim before. "Something went wrong, etc etc etc"

    • +2

Same issue trying to activate a SIM. Different device, IP, details and I keep getting that error message.

      • +23

Activation is a lot simpler - don't bother with online activation, use live chat.

I have a template setup to just paste into the box to make it quicker and not fluff around waiting for each next question:

I would like to activate a new sim.

        Full name:
        DOB:
        Phone:
        Email:
        Address:

        Sim Serial:

I would like a new number.

        NSW DL
        Card number

        • +2

          Thread MVP

          • +4

@txb: You can even paste multiple sim serials in the one message and have them do them all at once.

        • -3

Not only are you profiting you are making some live chat person work harder now.

Hopefully they get paid by enquiry.

          • +1

@Korban Dallas: You know what would resolve that? If they didn't make their online activation actually work. It has failed on 90+% of my attempts.

            • @cooni: Haven't had any issue except when activating a lot. Next day it's fine or change address a little.

              Pretty sure they are throttling.

90% is like 1 or 2 work at the start then your next 10 in a row do not work?

        • +1

On 11/10, activation failed at ID CHECK.
          Had to verify via chat.
Drivers License & Medicare failed online & through chat
Told to email photo of Drivers License. Got no response.
          Finally accepted Australian Passport.

May have just been a glitch in ID verification system.
Previous Boost activations had gone smoothly online.

          • @INFIDEL: Will Australia citizenship works ? I haven’t apply passport 😢

    • +4

Just ordered one. No issues as always.
      Tracked immediately.
Used my own name, email and address.
Win 11, Chrome, Mastercard, fixed IP Address.

I reckon mine is a pretty standard setup.

      • A setup shouldn't matter… I've bought 17 of them in total, but with extended periods where it's just impossible to buy one.

      • +3

What colour jocks are you wearing?
        It might matter.

        • +3

Damn - caught me out. I'm not wearing any.

    • +8

Are they purposefully trying to stop people who have bought many before?

      They are entitled to.
I buy once or twice a month, no issue at all.
Fully support them to block those who abuse the offer.
If they still pay those who abuse it,
there will be less attractive promotion for the marjority of us.

      • +1

Right, I have no problem with this too, but at least disclose it or publish a limit or whatever else?

      • +1

I buy 1 per month just for the free data and after only 4 purchases, I am blocked. No matter how I try I get the error message every time.

    • +1

So far no issues either with CR or SB. But I don't buy more than one SIM card on one deal.

    • same here but only ordering from their store, also running internet connection as a VPN node suspected an issue much sooner

tried same need to wait few months use caution which new IP, not only most the internet tracks us but anyone ever shared with us, any relative/friend/etc used that connection with an older connections could be flagged too… with services like google and facebook baked into most pages of the internet (google analytics, facebook login, etc) and god knows what else tracking, needs to be a completely clean IP and new device and other details we've never used before in previous attempts

wonder if there is a period of time to wait whatever blacklist is used against us is reset and we can order again? and whether attempts reset the waiting period back to '0' trying to avoid all attempts for 3 months is really difficult, lol (probably minimum a year)

  • +2

this hurts my head ($5.05 Profit) log out repeat ?

  • +1

    Is this the record?

    • +2

$5.25 was the record in March

  • Thanks TA, ordered and tracked 🙏

  • Sweet! Ordered!

  • +4

Genuine question - are there people (OzBargainer) churning through these and constantly getting new numbers? Given the deals generally are for new customers only. or am I missing something and you can keep your number and make use of these cashbacks?

    • +6

I use mine as a data sim as my phone is dual sim. New number each time which qualifies me as a new customer.

      • ahh righty-o. dual sim never thought of that as a use case.

      • Are you also using the same email, ID and address when activating? Thinking of doing the same. Thanks.

        • Sure am. Same account.

      • +1

Do you need to use a different email when purchasing?

      • I am very intrigued by this! I just discovered my s23u is a dual sim mobile. How does the dual sim work? I am clueless about it. Do you essentially have two mobile numbers linked to one phone? And like which number would I be calling from e.g. if I made a call?

          • Do you essentially have two mobile numbers linked to one phone?
            Correct, you do.

          • Which number would I be calling from e.g. if I made a call?
Your phone lets you set which sim to default to or to select each time. Can also choose one off to call from second sim.

You also select the active data sim, which in my case is the boost sim.

          • @alb3rtt: Wonderful! Thank you. Any call/text plans active that you recommend?

            • @Aidan9800: Being honest, not sure what the best deal is at present but I typically use kogan, their plans go on sale regularly.

I'm currently using a Vodafone deal with unlimited calls and text plus 250gb data for $99 from Costco (typically $199) as this was cheaper than kogan when I needed it.

              • @alb3rtt: Costco? Was this an in-store purchase or from their website? I don't remember seeing phone deals from Costco.

    • +1

Can't use to port so I assume it's for cheap data and calls. I mean what's cheaper than getting paid to use?

      • Yeah cheap data and calls, but a new number every time would be a nightmare for any "regular" phone user. So i was wondering the use case for these new customer deals.

        • +1

Well I personally have 2 dual sim phones and so….

          • @quill: Living the OzB dream :D

          • @quill: Most phones are dual sim now too. Just use an eSIM provide plus boost.

    • +2

Use as home wifi through hotspot on old mobile phone. So new number doesn't matter.

      • Wow ok. Good idea.

    • +1

idea1: Lebara extra small SIM usually goes on special @ $4 from ColesWorth, which have 4GB Data (Register App give 3GB bonus), and currently have double data offer. Lebara > Boost > Lebara > Boost.

idea2: Dual Sim with primary number on a pay as you go plan, I find myself rarely need to make calls now, and you can always make non-important call with the 2nd Boost SIM.

idea3: Buy a 2nd hand Telstra 4GX USB Modem (can be network locked, Boost==Telstra) for around $10~$20, insert the SIM in, plug it into your charger/power bank, you get to have your own portable router.

    • +2

Yeah, new number always to sign up for 50% dinner Menulog, 50% Doordash groceries, new app signup deals ( Ali Express, Macca's, Pancake parlour, GyG, Coffee shops, icecreams and many more). Good idea to give tip to delivery drivers though when save on dinner. Thanks to Boost Mobile and Ozb ofcourse !

    • 5 sounds like a good number. Let’s hope it all pans out.

  • +1

ehh i just ordered this morning with the lower cashback…. and i thought i was gonna get fomo then….

    • +1

      can always buy more

      • does this deal replace the previous one?

        • yes

  • +2

    Getting out of bed :D

  • Thanks TA,
tracking conformation email arrived before boost email :)
    Using boost ios app here.

  • So how many are people ordering?

    • +3

I've retired thanks to Boost sim deals with profit.

      • But.. you didn't answer his question!

  • +2

Thanks TA, bought more to average my previous total orders

    • +4

Thanks again for the FAQ :)

    • can we use exact same details/name/number eligible?

  • +1

How long do you have to be away from Boost to port back please? A day, or a month?

    • +2

I was told a month ago you can port back straight away as a new boost customer. This is from email from boost

  • +2

Boost has added a step to verify email address during activation, really slows down my selenium lol

  • Thanks OP, great deal.
I often think of these great Boost/CR offers as though they were the Bombs Away scene in the 1990 movie Memphis Belle. There is a lot of noise and flak out there and it is easy to be distracted but you wait and wait and then, when you see the target, you act without hesitation or mercy.
Then, you lean back and take off your gloves and bask in the glow of a job well done, just as Billy Zane does in the movie.
    Or, is that just me?

    • +1

      It's just you.

  • Nice

  • Still got 10 unactivated from last time $5 profit.. ty TA!

    • did the cashback approve or just pending?
i thought the activation within 30 days was part of the criteria to move it out of pending?

      • +1

I didn’t say mine was unactivated past 30days?
Last $5 deal was only 10 days ago and I only rcvd in mail 3 days ago. I do not condone unactivating it past 30days as the risk of figuring out is too much, eventho you may be lucky. Read what TA said here

  • Every time a similar deal comes up - and it's frequent - there are people having troubles buying them. It simply didn't used to be the case.

It simply didn't used to be the case.

Seems to have always been a problem. Repeatedly got the "Sorry something went wrong" etc message many times - last year.

      Discussion a year ago…

  • Quickest $500 i'll make in a while

  • Any worthwhile signups with a new number? Only thing that comes to mind is $10 JB perks

    • +1

Various fast foods that require number, mainly for free burrito, spotlight voucher but that requires min spend I believe,

    • $5 oporto, refer yourself for $5 on both accounts
      Free gloria jeans coffee
      Free soul origin coffee
Potentially $20 or $30 Targetted uber eats voucher a few days after signup plus $10+ cashback for first uber eats order

Im sure there is more too

  • Ordered as a 2nd data sim

  • +1

    SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG
We’re sorry but we’re experiencing technical issues. Please try again later.

    Arghhhhhhh!!!

    • Got this too

    • I had this until I stopped using my driver's license as ID. Switched and went thru fine.

      YMMV.

      • +1

This is not able to activate problem, it rather is unable to order ( SORRY at the paying of process ).
No ID needed until the activation.
