  • will these work in HPN40L ?

    • -1

No, you'll need ECC ram for the N40L.

      • +2

        No you dont.

@ravzter - yes these will work on the N40L. You just cant mix ecc with non-ecc ram

        • Actually you can mix ECC non registered with non ECC, because i am still running the stock 1gb stick + a no name 2gb stick in my N36L

        • Oh really? Then what do we need to be aware of when choosing RAM cards in terms of compatibility between multiple cards? I want to buy some more and not sure about this.

    • I think the only thing you need to be careful (with the MicroServer) of is the height of the memory, but going by these pictures its fine.

Great price but your shipping is completely ridiculous.
To ship this to WA costs $19.95.
You do realise that its small and weighs next to nothing.
Even a 3kg express post satchel (overkill) is $10 or so.

  • Speed of my current RAM is 1066 MHZ, can i use this together?

    • +1

If your mobo can take 1600 mhz then yes, but it will only run at the slowest speed.

So you're saying his old team might slow down the new team, and if he were to instead buy two new pairs to replace the old team, they'd work better as a team.

        • +2

Spot on mate, he can have an even better team if he were to throw out his old junk, aslong as the coach can handle such powerful players.

  • will these work on a mac?

    • would also like to know the answer to this :)

    • Only if you put them in upside down and back to front.

  • can you do 3x for a 1366 x58 board?

    • Just buy 3 sets?

      • LOL nice, upgrade to 24 GB, yeah, that would be cool, however, i think 18GB should be plenty…

besides, I'm not sure if all RAM is compatible with all chip sets?

and 54.75 VS 109.50… double the price!
damn it REP are you still around?

        • I take it you want to run 3x4gb and 3x2gb? you will find that depending on what CPU you have, the imc will struggle to address that, and you would need to run the whole lot at 1066 or 1333 otherwise you could have compatibility issues.

Best bet is to buy a quad channel kit and just run 3 sticks out of that.

        • hmnm thanks for the info so even if i have 1600 2GBx3 and these 4GBx3 on my i7 920 (D0 stepping from memory) i should run it at a lower speed (which shouldn't make too much of a difference real world)

i think the extra RAM should hopefully offset the performance loss…

  • sweet just ordered 3 x 4GB Memory Modules @ the same unit price… nice 18GB RAM here i come :D

guess it pays to ring them up.
