Reciprocating Saw
If you cut with it, does it cut you back?
Great price. Cuts through hardwood in a 1950s house Reno
Seems like a good deal. Any good reasons why I wouldn't want this model over the newer brushless one?
Try youtube ?
Alright for entertainment, terrible for cutting.
Some videos can cut deep
Good price for light duty work, but they can be a bit hit and miss. Burned out one on second use cutting through pallet nails.
This, it's good for a bit of pruning and was good to cut through the sleepers used for a retaining wall. Good for around the house and light to medium work.
….so, did yours burn out too? If so after how long?
These things are amazing for small trees and shrubs.
Unlike a chainsaw chuck the blade straight through the dirt to cut off at ground level.
Good point - I learnt that lesson with a chainsaw in my early teens.
Time's were different back in the 70s. Not sure about better but you probably learnt more.
Used this to cut Steel Pipe to create monkey bars for much cheaper than the Growplay Stuff
I've got this model, had it for years. Been through a few heavy reno jobs, I use it in garden, take it camping for firewood. I've worked this thing hard and worh a good set of blades, it's still working strong. I'm actually impressed. I work it hard and I've tried killing it so I can justify to upgrade to a newer or HP model. It's been bashed and trashed and still cuts and runs great. Pity the newer or HP models aren't on special.
At this price, I'd grab one for sureWhat is the "HP" model? With newer I imagine you mean the newer brushless model from Ryobi?
Edit: Found the "HP" model https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-compact-hp-brushle…
although there are Two "HP" models, this might be the newer model you mention too.

Anyone know the difference with this one?
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-reciprocating-saw-…40% faster cutting vs. previous models.
Right -seems they have four different versions of reciprocating saw
Price in title pls
