    It's not "just $1", it's $5.95 delivered

  • +4

Yeah. These scoopon vistraprints are usually a fail.
Its actually most probably higher than $5.95. Don't forget they charge for design upload as well. So, its probably close to $10.

I bought those $15 for $75. They actually put the price higher on stuff they usually have discounted.
So, not really that much difference if you were to buy through their standard discount. They have these smaller banners, etc for free most of time. They make money on shipping and design upload.

  • I once ordered a mouse pad.
The quality of material used leaves a lot to be desired.
If it sells for $1, it probably is worth $1.

This company sits in the same league as the Modern Group - Avoid !

  • you will get stung. vista print always charge exorbitant shipping.

    • +1

That has never been my experience with VistaPrint.
Have been buying for 6 years.
Seems strange to neg many personal experiences of actually buying from this business.
But like with all purchases - buy when the time is right for a good bargain.

Have you directly bought from Vistaprint? Post about those experiences!

As my experience has not been "you will get stung" nor "vista print always charge exorbitant shipping", it can't be so. I've only had good to excellent experiences.
Sure, processing costs are in the shipping rather than product cost unlike many sellers, but it isn't a rip off.

Its not shipping costs from China, granted. But it arrives on or before time - often within a week on 14 day post. Its from The Netherlands in my experience. I've paid far more for shipping on less weight buying in Oz.

But the per item price for my orders including shipping is usually under $2. Some items are not worth much, but 500 premium business cards & good quality T-shirts are usually in all my orders. (see below for 14 item order which cost $17.90 shipping & processing for 2kg plus packaging, arriving in 2 parcels at 5 & 13 days from Netherlands on 14 day shipping price. Total cost: $22.66. 21 day delivery would have cost less.)

they always advertise cheap or "free" stuff but charge hefty shipping. it's part of their pricing model. eg http://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/vistaprint.com.au

So you don't like Vistaprint for some reason. What negative experience do you have? I have only had positive ones over many years. I almost never recommend a business, but am very happy with Vistaprint. Can't see the reason for your neg!

Yes the cost of buying 1 item may make many deals less attractive. Printing small orders is not cheap. You can't compare a 1 off print job with most other deals of mass produced items in OB. I worked in publishing, designed & sold my own T-shirts at Uni. That's why I am amazed how cheap Vistaprint prices are, even with postage.

And they often have free deals (not always). But the issue of shipment cost on 1 item can be said of other deals on OB. People should be aware of the shipping costs of a deal, but can't see any reason to neg. People can make up their own minds. But hiding a deal makes that difficult.

My experience has been of good quality, delivered fast, at a cheap price. Where could you buy 3 good wearing T-shirts printed front & back on black, printed to your designs, delivered in about a week with lots of other stuff for just over $20?? There was a lot of good gear in the order example I posted, at a great price. That is reality, rather than theorising about problems you raised as always happening.

I'd go for their e-mail offers more than their scoopon vouchers that they always seem to have ($15 for $75 etc)
Seems like slightly better value if you don't mind the occasional e-mail/spam, deals are a bit more decent - half price shipping, free design upload, first item free etc etc.
In terms of quality, you get what you pay for.

  • uh oh lot -

Don't understand the negatives. So have posted my last order - very happy with it.
Canny buying can get you good bargains at VP. (I am a very cheap person.)
But buy direct from VistaPrint when sales are on.
(Won't '+' this deal, as it is through a group buying site.)

I have been buying from them for years. It is one of the few businesses I recommend, if you buy at the right time. Offers include free uploads of graphics & free stuff regularly.

Quality has been good. But it is always better to buy the premium product when it is free. (eg premium business cards in matt or gloss, on thicker card - the regular free ones are not worth the bother)
A printer friend agreed with my assessment of quality, & said he felt sick when I told him the price.
Each delivery is like Christmas to me - new clothes, & things for next to nothing.

I travel with my own designed gear, printed by VistaPrint (eg 'name' cards & T-shirts with name (uploaded graphics of artist's calligraphy) in local language, small gifts like personalised pens, etc).

My T-shirts designs are photographed & commented on so much on my travels. (How many people wear clothes they 'designed' themselves? OK the T-shirt is mass produced.) Most carry my name in the local language. In 1 day, over 100 people called out my name & said hello in Beijing. Gets me a lot of free drink, food, accommodation, & the right attention!! (I'm hopeless at languages, so it is an easy solution for a constant traveller.)

My order in late June arrived in under 14 day, some in 5 days.
I knew I could rely on speedy delivery - I was going os on 10/7.
You are usually allowed 10 free things (plus post) - so got a free selection.
All included my previously uploaded graphics - uploaded in other deals for free or very cheap.

My order cost $22.66 including postage for the following…
Men's T-Shirt 1 Free (Back Side Printing, Shirt Colour Black - INCLUDED)
    Men's T-Shirt 1 $1.00 (Back Side Printing, Shirt Colour Black - INCLUDED)
    Men's T-Shirt 1 $0.99 (Back Side Printing, Shirt Colour Black - INCLUDED)
(Black T-shirt is normally $8 extra + printing on back & on Black is more expensive print job)
Premium Cap 1 FREE (reverse side printing - INCLUDED)
    Tote Bag 1 FREE
    Keyring - Vertical 1 FREE
    Pen 1 FREE
Wraparound Mug 1 FREE (more expensive to post than most items)
    Sticky Notes 1 FREE
    Photo Notebook 1 FREE
    Note Pad 1 FREE (ruled)
Business Card Sticker 10 FREE (to match previous business cards)(Glossy Sticker Stock)
Keychain Flashlight 1 $0.31 (free 14day shipping - reduced post cost)
Calculator 1 $0.40 (free 14day shipping - reduced post cost)
Use of already uploaded graphics on all of above FREE

    Subtotal: $2.70 + GST: $2.06 = $4.76 (Full price showed as about $280! lol)
Shipping & Processing: $17.90 (14 day, but most delivered in 5 days) (
    Total: $22.66
    (Average price $1.62ea incl delivery)

Shipping is from the Netherlands, and is the main cost of my purchases. But not bad for 14d ship on all that stuff.

The thicker Black T-shirts have richer colours which last so much longer. I am still regularly wearing 6 year old black T—shirts, when the thinner white fabric & cheaper printing gave up after 13 weeks travel.

Would be hard pressed to buy 3 good T-shirts for that price, delivered, let alone my own designs & all the other goodies!

    • My profile avatar is a low quality example of the (free) uploaded image included on name cards, T-shirts, cap, carry bag, gifts of pens etc, thank-you cards, luggage tag,… I take on regular trips in Japan. Sort of my tag in Nihon-koku.
