I was thinking the same thing, all my Bosch blue is 18v.
Doesn't seem to be valid reason for a neg?
12v stuff from quality brands is actually fantastic and so convenient. Not used the Bosch stuff, but Milwaukee 12v is fantastic. So compact and light, makes many jobs far far easier.
A planar is a high speed tool requiring decent torque under load, and so I do question how well a 12v tool can perform this task. I can see its quite narrow so that will limit the load.
The photos in the Amazon listing give a pretty good overview of where a narrow and lightweight 12v planer would be useful compared to a bulky 18v or 220v unit.
I have one. I love it. Plus all of the other 12v bosch tools I own. Definitely needs the 6Ah battery.

Looks to have increased to $254 now.Still available, the extra discount applies at the checkout.
The Bosch Blue 12v (AKA 10.8v) is awesome gear. Most people will still have 18v tools as well, but it is amazing how useful it is to have the smaller light weight tools as well.
This drill kit for $283.52 is also a great deal…..

Just FYI, the almost identical planer sells for $365 at Bunnings, so this is a solid deal. I assume it has a different part number at Bunnings so they
not have to price match.I have a lot of Bosch 12V stuff as well as 18V in several other brands. I find I use the 12V more often than the 18V. This planer is a good deal so got one.
I don't know many people on the 12v ecosystem, especially Bosch….
