[PS5] Gran Turismo 7 $79 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

102

Was browsing some PS5 games after this mornings disc PS5 deal was posted and I saw that GT7 is $30 off regular price.
May be a deal for some (although the ratings say there's a lot of grinding involved)

    Not even close to $39

It’s been less than $40 many many many times. This has been the average price

    • +1

Where can you get it for $40? If I knew I'd have bought it then too!

    • Been waiting for months for it to come back down to a reasonable price and it's stayed up near $100, and I'm not paying that.

Ever since PSVR2 launched the price has been stupid.

      • cause that's the only game that performs reasonably well in PSVR2.. and then there is NMS.

      • The ps4 version was $39 last month with $15 upgrade.

        • I missed the sale in early July. I didn't see one last month though.

      • Need to HODL. It can't outrun ozbarginers if we keep waiting.

        • I'll be jumping into Forza Motorsport soon. I'll check back in with GT7 when it's in the bargain bin.

@mmcgr97: Oh, but xbox is the greatest console ever and Playstation is for noobs!!!

Is that what you want to hear?

Just browsed through your comment history, attacking anyone that mentions a game not released on Playstation.

Just stop kid. You're embarrassing yourself.

    • That's the PS4 version, this game is a paid upgrade to get the PS5 version.

  • +1

HODL until they add the JZX100 Toyota Chaser.

    • +1

      Remain steadfast my dear friend

  • Just HODL OP

My PS VR2 is already dusted.

    • +1

Why's your PSVR2 dusted? I was thinking about buying the VR2 with a Logitech G29 for some VR racing

      • Cuz I'm still holding for GT7 back to $39

        And also iVRy release

  • +1

Grinding is only really if you feel the need to own every car, if you go through the licences and 'menu books' (campaign) you pretty much get given all the cars you need to be competitive.

But yeah, I picked it up for $39 at the start of this year, not a great deal unless you want it right now.

Not worth it, atrocious amount of grinding. Every major update decreases the amount of decent payout races. For 79 you can surely get Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competitzione combo.

Unfortunately I agree. I am glad some are enjoying the game.

As for me I was really pumped for this game but it's so incredibly bland and tedious. I was hoping it could recreate the magic I felt while playing GT1 AND GT2 back in the day but nope. I was really bummed by that.

Nothing is as good as the original game.

  • It's only grindy if you expect to get all the cars or want a particularly expensive one. The game gives you plenty of cars to play around with. OTOH, Forza Horizon 5 throws cars at you with such rapidity you become numb to it.

    • Most cars are expensive. Most parts are expensive. If you like the cars it gives you that's cool, but if you like cars, you probably want to buy your own, and they are generally expensive and you need to grind.

      • +1

I never found it hard, most of the menu books could be done with the car you got from one earlier, with probably less spent on tuning than you won from those races. If you don't like those cars, sell some to buy the ones you want.

        • -1

          You can’t sell them

          • @onlinepred: I forgot you aren't able to until you've unlocked all the original menu books, but you definitely can - it was added in an update along with some other features to make it less grindy. If you haven't finished those though, why are you grinding anything else? Or how long is it since you played?

            • @McFodder: Yes, 39 menus. And you said its not a grind.

              • @onlinepred: When it's not the same thing over and over, most people call it "content"

                • @McFodder: Win race, get car, win race, get car, win race, get car, complete menu, get stupid lottery prize. Rinse and repeat 38 more times.

                  Really creative content right there.

                  • @onlinepred: ….it's a racing game. If that's not what you wanted I don't know why you bought it in the first place.

Yeah it's pretty terrible. But I did it all and you end up with a bunch of cars to play around with. But then there is the menu structure of the main game and having to look around to find stuff to actually do and I gave up after a couple of days. The online 'daily' races are actually weekly races so doing those over and over is awful.

One day I loaded it up and my internet was down so it puts you in this offline mode where you have about a dozen cars to pick (not your own garage) and you can just pick a track and how many laps and difficulty. That was a better racing game than the actual game.
