    It can be connected to any car , as it comes with mounting bracket , some cars like toyota it fits to current mount but if you can check the photos you can see the bracket and compare with your , also comes with the part you stick it on to window and slide this unit on to it, you may need to get professional assistant with installation , Regards

          Did they define what counts as "substantial"?

          If they can be produced for the Australian market (the GPS I presume would have AU maps), then I'm sure the manufacturer's legal department would have checked it out and given them the OK first wouldn't they?

      Gps devices will not do that as you suppose to not using any sort of device while you are driving including mobile phones , DVD Players etc. Also it is Australian Stock and Gps devices are legal in Australia as most of the new cars comes with gps function

          This is larger than your regular Mirror and you have enough clear view for rear
          According to your comments i have called few RWC Mechanics and they advised that as long as you have full clear view for rear there's no issue , Could you please provide a legal link showing your comments are accurate instead of making up numbers at % so we can see it as well please , Thanks

    Review by PCAuthority on this product wayyyyy back in Dec 2008. Note in the conclusion the author reported that the device has passed road worthiness and certification measures in Australia.

    Question for OP, given that the product was first released 4 years ago, can the software (map and firmware) be updated?

          Just google for navigon windows CE , also there are heaps of other softwares will work on this too , like destinator, tomtom i-go etc. if you are really interested just search internet for windows CE Navigation software.

    Can anyone advice how much approx will a car mechanic charge to install this?
    As I am not sure how to route the rear view camera cable and also how to give power to the main mirror. I dont want a cable dangling from the lighter charger to the mirror.

      It would more than likely cost more than the cost of the unit. Also keep in mind that in most modern cars, mirrors have various sensors (eg dimming the mirror at night) so it may be unwise to cover your stock mirror.

    Also keen to know where the cord for powering the mirror is supposed to go? Is it thick? Is it long enough to stretch around the top of the mirror and down to the cig lighter connection?
