Kirby's Epic Yarn $29 - JB Hi-Fi

250

I have only just purchased a Wii for my daughters birthday, thanks to Ozbargain. I bought her a few silly games, nothing special, just some cheap shovelware. Turns out she hates them, I've never seen a seven year old so upset at bad game design.
I began to think, what is a nice easy game that is simple enough to ease my beautiful little girls into the field of gaming? Something so easy that there is no chance of failure and everything is pink and saccharine?

Kirby's Epic Yarn of course!

After a little searching on the usual sites it turns out a local dealer is selling it cheapest. The cheapest overseas only sell NTSC copies, so they probably aren't compatible. JBHiFi it is. The price online is the same in store.

Don't worry fellow gamers, their next game will be Planescape: Torment.

  • +ve just for mentioning planescape

  • Fantastic game - amazing how Nintendo classics hold their value, as normally see this going for $70+, or $45 import. Been waiting to grab a copy locally, so will head to JB now..

I don't think they hold their value, Nintendo are notorious for keeping their pricing as close to the RRP as possible. Then again, most first party developed games are like that.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a great game for young boys and girls alike. It is creative as well as aesthetically pleasing. If you're looking for something nice to keep the kids entertained over the forthcoming term break, this is the ticket. Good price too.

      Great game for adults too!

      • If you were a kid that has practically grown up & matured along (literally) with video games through the years, I don't think there would be anything to dislike in general. Especially in this case Nintendo related names like Mario, Zelda etc.

Almost everyone is gaming these days…

  • This game was friggin awesome.

are you trying to fool your daughter with silly shovelware that plagues the wii

planescape torment is excellent pre-baldurs gate, but if you want something that does what it sounds like then get them to play silent hill.

  • OP, your story is something familiar to me! I have a nephew that loves his Wii and will only play dancing games! I think this will be a good way to expand his repertoire!

What are the chances this will be even cheaper closer to Christmas?

I think you need to get him a football not more wii games.

  • This is an awesome game, enjoyable for all ages :)
