A bit fishy. The 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G is a non-motor lense, won't auto-focus on a D5100. Its also a pretty old $130 lense. The attached picture looks like a 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR lense which is closer to $350 in value.

    • Well spotted, thank you.

  • never had a dslr.. but just wondering can this camera do the slow shutter thing/light drawing?

also can it focus on something and blur out the rest?

I suggest to buy prime lens (non Zoom):
Nikon 35mm f/1.8 G or Nikon 50mm f/1.8G, they both good in low light situation and could give very nice bokeh(blur effect) - Cost around $200 maybe less if you shop around

or, if you prefer to stick with one zoom lens that can take wide view, close up and good in low light,

You can go for Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8 $400
Nikon or Tamron VC 24-70mm f/2.4 $1.200 (yikes!)
