I have this set and the wifi point keeps disconnecting randomly every now and then after just one year and a bit. This is a known issue for this device and the customer representative will just tell you to soft or hard reboot the device. It would work afterwards, but it’s just such a hassle if you need to do that every now and then. Then, come the notorious process of claiming warranty. Still no success up to now and I have just lost hope and count it as loss

    • I have this (two sets actually) and I dont think they that worth it for full price, but at this price they are ok.

NB I claimed warranty on my google doorbell, they asked for photos and gave me a full replacement so at least in my experience they arent that bad.

    • I agree. I have been using this for the last three years, they are absolute garbage.

They keep restarting and factory resetting every few weeks.
Can’t put them in bridge mode.
      Mobile only interface.
Non existent support and unanswered community topics.
Relatively limited range through brick walls.

    • Ive had these for almost a year and I've been super impressed. Haven't had any issues whatsoever. Internet works great through the house.

I did have some trouble setting them up but support was amazing. They even tried to call tpg to put them on a conference call to troubleshoot my router

    • +1 to this.

My wifi point keeps degrading to a point where everything connected to it slows to a crawl. I have to unplug the point and plug it back in for things to start working.

Not to mention my first set had to get RMA'd within a year because the router basically died and wouldn't hold PPPoE auth.

    • Same issue. I do like the units however they are unreliable. I have a point that I've had replaced due to it disconnecting randomly, needing a power reset to get it going again.

      credit card details

Who cares about those? Fraud is your bank's problem.

      • Even though is bank problem, but they can still insist to claim that’s a valid transaction.

I just recently have had experience with nab credit card. I claimed for unauthorised transactions but they replied and refused it as unauthorised. Claimed that 2 steps verification was done and valid. Damaged about $1.5k. Reported to afca.

        • That's not how the process works - if there are fraudulent transactions on your card, then the liability does not lie with you (unless you actively handed out your card details and/or didn't take reasonable steps to secure your information). Card compromise is normal, and happens to everyone eventually.

What do you mean by "unauthorised" transactions ?

          • @Nom: Fraudulent transactions of course … whatever you want to call it

What i can say is not all fraudulent transactions reported would be at your favour

  • Decent price, what a shame they insist on hiding all tech specs on the linked page. If you’re not in need of cutting edge WiFi 6 or 6e, it’s probably a decent solution, esp for anyone not wanting dramas with their parents or neighbours set and forget network…

For anyone wondering, the Google Nest wiFi supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Up to 2200 Mb/s (Router).

  • Its a wifi 5 , Router is AC2200 and Point is AC1200 , pretty bad for the RRP

  • Price beat this at Officeworks today

    • My local Officeworks refused to price beat because the model number is not listed :(

  • I had this and after getting the Telstra Gen 3 smart modem I didn't need this anymore. Got it for free but could be an option to some others.

I didnt like how I couldn't split the frequencies, so my Yeelights would have issues reconnecting if I turn it off/on

  • If you have ethernet set up, these routers support backhaul. I have one each upstairs and down, and they work beautifully.

These weren't that good to start with, let alone years later…
