    $74 @ harveynorman.

You can use this link for price matching. https://www.harveynorman.com.au/xbox-wireless-controller-wir…

    • How much is delivery though? And even so, the delivery takes a week.

      • True. It works out for people who want delivery over click and collect.

      • Even with delivery, you can just hop onto JB live chat and get them to match Gerry

    • +2

Surprisingly decent price from old mate G dog

      • It's good to use it to price match at other retailers so you don't support Gerry.

    • Currently $59 at Costco for black/white, if you're nearby

      • With adaptor?

        • Not sure, I've got Bluetooth on all my devices so never needed it

  • Forgive me, I'm ignorant, but with these bad boys having Bluetooth since the slim Xbox One dropped, isn't the dongle kinda useless? Or is it a shitload better in terms of latency or something?

    • +6

Yeah the latency is better plus not all devices have bluetooth

      • Truuuue. Not much of a PC person here, I'm a Chromeboi and even then, never used anything that wasn't a laptop for personal use since the early 00s, didn't consider that. Bought a cheap all in one PC a couple years back off Marketplace to mod my Vita, didn't realize it didn't have a WiFi card until I got home (I have no home internet, all internet is hotspot'd off a Felix unlimited SIM), thankfully I had a little WiFi dongle thing in my box of random USBs from an emulator console or I'd have been in the poopoo.

        Carry on.

        • I have no home internet, all internet is hotspot'd off a Felix unlimited SIM

Why did I think I was the only one doing that.

    • I got the dongle bundle for my PC because occasionally my controller can be disconnected and not recognisable, I have to forget this device and reconnect.

I think it’s because I have too many wireless devices on the desk and the PC antenna is at the back. I don’t have this BT issue on my XSX or PS5 in my living room. In my case, 2.4G connection is much more stable.

The latency is slightly better but for my games (racing and RPGs) it’s not a problem. I don’t think it’s worth the upgrade just for the latency improvement.

Audio jack on the controller is not supported on Bluetooth and only works with a dongle. And of course the slight advantage over latency and signal like others already mentioned.

Essentially the dongle makes the whole controller experience more console-like.

      • Oh shit, I kinda assumed the rest, but headphones not working is defo a big one if you're into the online games. Fair enough, what an odd exclusion.

        • It's a technical limitation. Bluetooth is simply not fast enough.

The wireless adapter is not a BT dongle but rather entirely on it's own radio, just like a Xbox console. On Windows it shows as a separate audio device which allows you to play quietly via headphone for example.

Probably not a big deal as we usually play close to the PC. However if you're playing on a HTPC or sort the difference is significant.

    • Doesn't include the wireless adapter.

      • My bad 🫣

    • No adapter

    • 😐

  • I'm surprised that Amazon didn't bother to price-match HN.

    • +3

Didn’t see HN as a threat lmao - the disrespect

      • My local HN has about 2m of shelf space dedicated to all games and consoles. They didn't even have this advertised price shown.

HN isn't serious in the gaming space.

        • +1

Well, cause boomers don't play games

Looks like it's OOS, only used "Like new" ones for $77

    • Oh wow, thanks for pointing that out. I refreshed the page and noticed it was slightly cheaper than what is mentioned in the title and was going to buy it.

  • Thanks Microsoft for still selling USB wireless adapters. The Sony dongles are unbelievably pricey on used market.

    • Is there a link to buy?

  • What I see now is Used @ $75.39

Does anyone know how does this compare to the 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless? Is the 8BitDo better or this one since it is first party?

  • SO for xbox, you don't use the dongle?
For PC, how will this compare with any old controller + 2.4ghz?

  • Back in stock

  • Worth getting this as an upgrade to an old XBox 360 controller? (works OK, but the driver for the adapter seems to be on borrowed time with Win11).

    • I use a xbone controller with my switch and MiSTer (via 8bitdo receiver) and still have a few 360 pads/recievers around. I do find the xbone controller nicer to use and the 'series' ones are a bit better still.

  • If I just want a wireless dongle, what the best option to get it?

I search ebay but a lot of them seems like not from microsoft and 3rd party one?

  • Harvey Norman=$74 for dongle in black color
Costco=$59 for black and white only wireless not with dongle

I just bought from Harvey Norman.. no issues
