The name Vtech struck a chord in my memory. Several years ago they made international news in multiple outlets for how bad they were at data privacy for kids.

What was especially memorable was how in the leadup to all this (irrc there were smaller rumblings first) the company's response was to not give a flying crap and ignored all warnings, said that this was expected behaviour, or told people to bugger off.
I would not trust a Vtech product further than a toddler could throw one.
