Always wanted to buy a pellet smoker grill. The only thing stopped me - I didn't want to cook a whole cow at once. This size looks just right for cooking 1-2 feeds for an average family.

keep an eye on this on kickstarter:

Yeah, picked one mostly because of the size - running on the pellets is quite expensive.
I saw a review for PittBoss portable one, it seems they work from portable power sources (like a battery or inverter) quite well, drawing less than 200wt when lighting the fuel up and less than 20wt most of the time.
Potentially stupid questin: Can I check this runs on pellets via electricity? Could it be set and forget easily for a low slow smoke and it keeps temperature at set level? Can't find info online.
Probably, the precise temperature control is why I've bought it, should be good for low and slow.
any idea how often I need to manually add pellets? Could I set for a 12-14 hour low slow smoke and only top up once?
With grills I have had in the past, easy - depends on hopper size - but you’d want at least one cook without having to fill it
I really like these but they should make them usb powered its useless for camping if it has to be plugged in
