This has appeared several times before and previous posts include some user comments: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/bosch-glassvac — seems mixed reviews overall, but might be worth trying if you have lots of glass to cover and if you can pick it up at a good price.

It’s on my watch list but will wait until the Black Friday sales to see if it drops any further to around $50 again like the last couple of years.

    • I use it. I have not used any other brand so unable to compare. But it does the job it is meant to.

Got it and it's the only way I'd clean windows now. It's faster, less messy, and the finish is excellent. Not so useful outdoors - it does not deal with cobwebs or other debris.

    • hey hey yes i've got one… love it and works well… perfect mixture of liquid is the key

      • What mix do you recommend? I keep getting streaks!

  • At the end of the day you need to have a good mixture of the liquid.

    • Details please?

I have the ryobi version and i regret the purchase. A bit of a waste of money - not a significant upgrade from plain squeegee to this to justify the price tag

I have just cleaned Joker and Villain's faces on TV with a piece of dump newspaper and they now even playing better. Go Joker for 24.

Got the Karcher version, used it a few times and now just sits on a rack.
If it saved a lot of time, do you see professional window cleaners use it. There lies your answer.

    • that's a good point!

I have a Karcher model. The Karcher diluteable solution makes ALL the difference in my opinion. I also use a regular spray bottle with water to wet the glass before spraying the Karcher solution. And once I’ve used the fluffy pad on the end of the Karcher spray bottle on the glass, I spray the regular water again before using the vacuum on the wet glass. Also have a couple of cloths to finish off.
In comparison to using a squeegee and soapy water etc, less water everywhere.
    Hope this helps others.

    • Karcher I've returned twice. Third one has ceased up again. You have to use a pipe-cleaner to push the prop to get it going if you leave it unused for a couple of months.

Motor has developed a screeching noise.

When they work they are very good at cleaning, otherwise its a shoddy design by karcher.

    • If doing internal windows you can use the window cleaning pad under the squeegee when coming down the glass to catch the excess water. Making sure you have the correct water and dishwashing solution so it's not saturating the windows is also advised.

I've used the Karcher version of this and a Unger squeegee for comparison, the Karcher was sold after one use.

  • which version of Karcher?

    • +1

I believe it was V2. I found using a good squeegee and Rubber compared to this type was night and day. Quicker with Squeegee, much better results and much less if no window detailing afterwards, you can also buy a Squeegee Handle and different size blades for different size windows unlike this type that has one fixed size, as someone has mentioned there's a reason professional window cleaners don't use them.

I have a Karcher V2 and while it was nice to clean up the excess water, nothing beats a good squeegee with a straight soft rubber from a cleaning store (not Bunnings). A good squeegee glides on the glass and leaves it streak free.

    • Link pls?

The Ettore ones have really good quality rubber. Unger and Sorbo also are similar professional quality window cleaning brands. If you're in Melbourne, this cleaning shop is in Hawthorn so they can give you some good advice.

We get a lot of condensation on the windows in the morning over winter which leads to mold.
This glass vacuum makes the job very easy in the morning to get rid of the water.

I use a Karcher window vac for the same purpose. Such a lifesaver!

  • Missed it, it's gone. Back to $115 now.
