Robot vac war - Roboroc vs Draeme

  • Been looking at this for a few days but will wait till black Friday I think.

    • When is that

      • Usually the last two weeks in November

This is a very good robot vacuum cleaner in my experience. I bought additional microfibre pads from ebay so I can mop more often, yet the original one that came with it is much better (bigger surface area in contact with the ground).

Can't speak for the intelligence with regards to transitioning from tile to carpet with the mop attachment in place as I close the carpeted room doors when I don't want it going in there.

Single room cleaning is also pretty nifty.

10% slower than my Xiaomi Robot vacuum, but it does seem to have a better logic to its cleaning pattern/path.

  • Can anyone recommend me a reliable robot vacuum?
How does this one stack up amongst the others?
I’m willing to spend a bit more if I know it will do the job perfectly and last a long time.
I have a 2 storey home, tiled downstairs and carpeted upstairs, so I need one that’s good at mopping and vacuuming, although I think I’d prefer one that’s better at vacuuming carpet.

Get 2 cheaper ones? That way you don't have to carry it upstairs each time.

That was my plan, but eventually got annoyed at the idea of manually cleaning stairs, so went with a single-story place.

seriously was that the reason LOL

      • This is a brand new home so might have to put off on downsizing for the time being haha but 2 vacuums does sound like a good idea. Any “cheap” ones you recommend?
I was looking at the S8+ but that’s quite dear if I needed two.
Will probably need to get a stick vacuum for the stairs…

I can't Speak for this model, tho I have the Roborock S7 maxV. has good things, has not so good things. All in all does the job.

      Pros
Bagless bin (less additional recurring costs / better for environment)
Does relatively good job with pet hair with only one pass (the worst of all pet hairs, a German shepherd mind you) You can select multiple passes if you desire.
Great mapping and methodical cleaning path (except on the cow hide rug, looks a bit chaotic on that)
Mopping function works surprisingly well on default with only one pass.
Can link to google assistant for verbal control of basic functions. (start vacuum/ vacuum study / pause / return to dock etc)
Can specify vacuum and mopping vibration intensity and density.
spot cleaning and specific room cleaning
remote control and intercom. ( can drive around and inspect the house, see if my dog has raided secret cookie stash, then start a video call and let him know he's been a bad boy.)
does great getting up that big lip into the bathroom

      Cons
      App is slow
Very limited integration with AI assistants
Cant select a specific room (eg rooms with carpets) to be vacuumed with a 2nd pass when creating a whole house schedule.
cant do extra spot cleaning while currently on a scheduled run.
If kids or pets run in front of it, it will register an obstruction and ignore that spot entirely for the rest of its cycle, even on a second pass. so sometimes there is a lot of spots that dont get cleaned in my house.

Only issue is it doesn't have the lift and vibration mop function which once you've experienced the convenience of it, you wont want to settle for less.

How is this compared to roborock s50. Other than the auto empty dock, is it worth upgrading ?

  • +1

I have a Q7. The rubber main brush is inferior IMO to the brush with bristles from my Gen1. Its simply not as good at getting the stuff that's sitting on top of carpet like fluff or cotton.

  • Thanks for sharing the codes. I have bought a S8 model without auto-empty dock using the codes.
Compared Q7 Max+, S8 has better suction, mop modes, and obstacle avoidance.
