OPPO A57 4G Black 4G 64GB (Locked to Vodafone Network) & $30 Prepaid Starter Pack for $99 @ Coles

140

I thought this is a great price for a fairly decent phone for under 100 bucks only thing is it's locked to the Vodafone network.

Got mine today ordered online and delivered. Not sure if they are in the store where you can buy over the counter. I paid 6 bucks for delivery so didn't care much.

I think the Oppo came on sale yesterday at Coles from $150 to now $99.

Even though it is with Vodafone, you get $30 bucks credit with the new sim card and I think you can pay a fee to get it unlocked from Vodafone not sure.

NFC works on this phone to pay for things.

I don't think it came with headphones but it does have the charging lead and charger.

Helio G35 for anyone wondering (so pretty low end).

On a side note, anyone know if these cheap Android phones are any good for emulation?

    • Pretty sure it's a dog for emu. Probably good for nes and under

      • +2

Damn that's unfortunate. Was hoping PS1/N64 at minimum.

        • +4

I'm sick of hearing such things. I was (profanity) playing PS1 FINE on my phone over a goddamn decade ago. PS1 will work on a (profanity) potato. I'd be genuinely shocked if this thing couldn't handle PSP and Dreamcast competantly at a minimum from the quickest of quick glances at the specs.

  • Good deal yes, good phone no.

If it's not a good phone then in my opinion it also isn't a good deal.

great as a spare phone to use extra sim on food delivery deals and such that require new accs

  • +2

Has fingerprint scanner, NFC and is Dual Sim for $99 - that's a good price for those features, can't find anything under $100 for that.

Thanks OP, welcome and good first post.

    • Yes it can have those features. But how is the performance level. It's not much good having those features if the performance is slow causing one to be frustrated during the day.

Why don't Coles have a proper stock check like Woolworths?

    • +2

      yeah this is shithouse

their whole ERP thing is garbage

like you can do click and collect but it doesnt check if there's stock

I did put in a 2nd order and paid $4 for delivery and they say they can fulfill but let's see… it seems they may have some at their distro

      • +3

        both orders cancelled

        what a garbage company

  • +1

If anyone got this phone, mtk engineering apk works? This will soft unlock the bands to use opths and telstra.

  • +1

Is this one difficult to unlock from Vodafone?

    • +1

Not difficult to unlock, visit Vodafone unlocking tool website and enter the IMEI and it will tell you how much it costs, pay it then follow the unlock instructions

  • Got the Optus locked A57 for the same price as the Vodafone locked A57 at Woolies Southport Park.

  • +1

My A57 worked great with a amaysim and Telstra SIM in the phone (mine's the Optus prepaid A57 as Coles sold out of the Vodafone A57)-didn't even need to get an unlock code.
