I've got both a 6a and a 7a and honestly I'd go for the 6a at this point if you could get it for near that price.
The 7a is the first phone I've ever owned that has felt like a downgrade from the previous version in terms of battery life. I also find I have way more difficulty with Google Assistant on it for some reason - I can do "OK Google" when it's on the bed next to me and it won't hear me, but my Google Home mini in a totally different room separated by multiple walls can still pick it up. Frustrating.

I got my pixel 7 from Telstra on Monday. Great phone. Still getting used to it compared pixel 2 XL(which makes me appreciate how light and thin that phone was).

It sounds like the Pixel 7 Telstra deal got way more attention than they were able to handle. My wife's 6a turned up in a few days through them (later last year), so they're usually not too bad.
Just bought mine, hopefully there is no Telstra ROM or network locked
