BG’s Notes:
Excludes: QLD Far North, WA Remote
I know it’s $2 more than the Amazon deal but if you are willing to take a risk, this will turn out to be $51.75 after cashback (if you’re selecting C&C rather than delivery) :)

You may have a $5 Plus coupon.
you might be right… i think i get one each month?
If you are going for SB and Westpac CB, make sure you don't select the voucher.
@bobokingdom: Are you sure it wont stack with SB ???
I just bought some stuff from Liquorland the other other day, had a 10% off code, paid with flybuys points and SB credit still came through and tracked.
has anyone bought the ethernet adapter to get this to work. i know it needs a power source, so i've bought one that allows usbc, but it just keeps flashing orange.
i havent bought the google one, this is just one off amazon.
it works fine through wifi but wanted it connected through ethernet.
Yeah, I use a Google one, works fine
I should've done that, bit dumb of me to try and fine a cheaper alternative
Still unnecessary down votes!
I bought this when i bought the 4k chromecast. Have had no issues.

Man the adapter is almost as much as the device.
You'd need to check the compatibility for your particular hub.
A lot of cheaper ones are not compatible.
Thanks mate, I think this is a possibility
legend.
is there one that's not limited to 100mbps?
HD or 4K model? asked gpt-4 and it says HD model is newer which supports AV1 while 4K model does not.
HD uses s805x2 and 4K uses s905x3.
What resolution is your TV? HD is limited to 1080p
I currently use an 1080p monitor as a TV
I know a new Pixel watch is coming… But these deals make me wonder if a new Chromecast is on the way too this year?
nice.
Would having this Chromecast work better than the one that comes inbuilt with the Sony TVs (mine's about 4 years old now)? I've noticed that I occasionally see response issues and Plex crashing every few weeks. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Yes, way more responsive. Best thing to do with Sony TV's crappy Android implementation is to factory reset the TV and keep it disconnected from ethernet/wifi - my Sony TVs were way more stable after doing that
The Chromecast still has the odd hiccup lag.. but it's WAY better than my 5 year old lagfest Sony.
yes agree…. for movie nights, I have to prep the TV 20mins beforehand… as it would crash/reboot sometimes
Probably better than your TV but I was still disappointed with the chromecast speed and fluidity. It's a budget product with a teeny tiny processor that sometimes struggles to keep up. I upgraded to a second gen Apple TV 4K for $120-ish which is miles ahead of the chromecast. Using the chromecast for travel/hotel TVs now
Going against the grain here - I found the Sony inbuilt substantially better than the external. I had a lot of remote lag issues with my external Chromecast, as well as general audio issues connecting to external speakers. YMMV but I definitely prefer the in-built option, especially for the benefit of fewer remotes.
Can you pay with gift card and remaining $4 with Westpac and still get the Westpac bonus?
