  • Can anyone comment on how active the online scene is on Switch for this game?

It's crazy that there isn't just regular Tetris on the Switch. Only this, and Tetris 99 which only works with a subscription.

    • +4

      There's Tetris Effect

    • Also Tetris Effect, Grand Master and Diamond(g-mode).

    • Depends what you mean by regular Tetris. Would you not count Tetris Effect? There's also Tetris The Grand Master on the eShop.

Hi, have you heard of Tetris Effect? Not enough people seem to be mentioning it to you

Tetris 99 works offline if you buy the cartridge or the full game, and has normal Tetris.

Online scene is good, full of Japanese people that are wildly good at Tetris.

    • There's Tetris on the original Game Boy, but only with a Nintendo Online subscription too. Which is so whack.

    • You can purchase the single player component of Tetris 99, named Marathon. It doesn't require a subscription.

  • $55 (original price) for Tetris? Wonder if they sold any copies?

    • It includes Puyo Puyo as well (which was known by some as Dr Robonik's Mean Bean Machine on the Mega Drive) which is great on it's own. There's also a game mode combining the two games. Also includes quite a funny story mode with a ton of characters.

This is a lot more than just Tetris.

      • so you can play regular tetris? i just want regular tetris.

So you've heard of Tetris, but apparently not a DVD?

          • -1

@Faro: who hasn't heard of tetris. there was also a movie. who doesn't know tetris you silly goose.

let me know when there is a movie about dvd's and i will watch it. :)

        • Yeah you can play Tetris mode in PPT1, which is solid because that's all I really play it for.

Agree that story is pretty entertaining but never got around to finishing it

  • Great song to play in the background https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvtzZFhrKLE

Still think this is expensive for it, can't believe people paid $55

  • Where can I find the monthly game trials?

    • +1

Check the Nintendo Switch Online app on your Switch. You can find all the details there. There's three games this month, as was posted here.

I got more than $10.99 worth out of the Puyo Puyo Tetris 1 demo local multiplayer bug, so I'll pay that! Cheers.

  • Just doing the trial and this game is more fun than i'd like to admit.

  • Ain't just ordinary tetris or puyo puyo. Combos, power ups, etc.

Played it and got schooled! - did I enjoy? No! Adrenaline based. Sweating it out to just kick ass or come close. Rather play space Sim, or racing game if I wanna use adrenaline - or hop into a real cockpit thanks - been a while to for that.

Played way too many adrenaline games in the past, multi csgo, quake, UT, bond, etc. Chewing through speed runs, time trials, rank As, really hard fuking levels in donkey kong, mario, sky force (inc ani), sa2b, etc. Burnt to a crisp on competition :/

Sounds like you had way too much adrenaline when you wrote this.

      • Nah, the post would be longer and I'd rant on the game - I still don't know who dedicates so much time to playing tetris or puyo, must be a socializing game in Asia?
