    Put price on it.

It's cheaper on eBay if you got eBay plus.

    Pioneer DMH-A5450BT 2-Din $458.87 Delivered @ NoFrills Sydney via eBay (code: AUGG17)

  • Any thoughts on professional installation for this on a Nissan pathfinder 2017?

Fit the head unit to something else, sell the Pathfinder before the CVT shits itself.

        Good call.

        😁 I also agree

Nissan will replace the transmission at no cost even if out of warranty if you haggle enough and provide evidence that many others are having similar problems and its a manufacturing defect.

A friend of mind got the transmission replaced out of warranty by Nissan at no cost last year. However had to pay the dealer $400 diagnostics fee to forward a report to Nissan to get the replacement authorized.

What's the differences between the Pioneer DMH - 'A' models and 'Z' models? They look much the same?

    • Following.

    • Z is "higher end" A is "entry level"

      • Ah k, but specifically does it have much feature difference is better/worse screen for example? Slower processor?

I've had a Z5350BT in one car for several years now and really like Pioneer. It just works.

I'd take Pioneer over any no-name crap form Ali Express.

Just wondered if the A models would be a step down to the Z models, if I was to put one in another car.

        • A series is made in Thailand, Z series still made in japan

  • This Pioneer or Alpine iLX-W650E?

    • +1

neither. both low res screens. some nice ones on Ali Express with high resolution available.

      • I didn't know (and don't mind) about screen resolution because I need the unit mainly for navigation and some music.
And also what about the Nakamichi NA3625-W6?

      • +7

I'd take a name brand over an Ali Express special any day of the week.

        • +3

I used to think that as I had a bad experience with one a few years back but they have gotten heaps better.
Bought another one recently for like $200 and can't complain at all about it. Gotta get at least 4gb ram though, not the cheapy 1-2gb models

    • This over the 650 as this has wireless AA and Carplay

    LCD WVGA (800 x 480).

    No thanks.

    • 800x480 is absolutely fine for Android Auto - I've got an old Sony XAV-AX100 with this resolution, and there's no issue with the screen at all 👍

  • +1

    480p? Really?

If you want a much better product for this price range, go onto aliexpress and search "[car name] cc3" and pick up the latest T'EYES custom for your vehicle.

    • Sorry, your search "mitsubishi lancer cc3" did not match any products. Please try again.

    • See just above - 480p works just fine for Android Auto, it's not an issue.

  • For what it's worth, I have this head unit. I've been happy with it. Wireless Auto, carplay is a gamechanger. Just get in the car and the phone is there. The wireless connection is a little unstable if you're using the phone at the same time. It uses a looooot of bandwidth

    • Wireless Auto

Have you tried the wire connection?

  • Fwiw, SuperCheap stock these ($549 on special) and the offer a price guarantee "we're cheaper, or we'll beat it".
