leave out in the backyard or not suitable for sustained rain/sun

I wouldn't leave fiberboard out in the rain.

Is this a statement or a question?

If only we invented a punctuation mark to help clarify

Good find, sadly MDF table top

I just bought the camp kitchen yesterday for $39 and thought price had dropped again but I see now is not the same thing.
Looks like it's not on the website any more, but its still the image they are using for the camping category if anyone is interested. (There was another 3 left at Cockburn). Pity they are steel frame though (9.3kg package!) and I'll probably replace the cupboard shelves with something sturdier, the thin MDF is too flimsy.)

    • Bought the same one but was very disappointed with the build quality and the fact that the cupboards don't have solid covers only mesh ones. Ended returning it.

Does it triple click and say nuh uh girlfriend when you open it?

    • made me laugh

      • +2

I don't get it. Please explain.

It's a "camp" (as in gay/queer) dining table, rather than a "camping" dining table.

  • +3

I bought this and returned it the next day.

Great idea but not very stable. Would not stand up to abuse of camping in the long run unfortunately

Seems pretty heavy at 7.9kg and doesn't fold down small enough for me. I'd say $35 is fair value for this.

      • +6

Yeah good value if you don't abuse it too much. I like the storage basket underneath and it has height adjustable feet which was a nice touch. It just felt a bit flimsy to me.

I already own one of these which is way stronger and can hold 150kg. The Kmart one can only hold 30kg - https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/camp-furniture…

I think for $5 extra you are better off with the Anaconda one.

        • Thats a good price at the moment

        • +3

          If they're complaining about 7.9kg they'll hate 11kg

        • Are those WWE approved?

      • It's a 1.5m long table, you're not going to get much lighter at that price point (even at $99).The Oztent Bi-fold probably folds a little smaller but would be heavier and more expensive, at least it's got an aluminum (laminate) top though.

        • I'd prefer something like this but not sure on the quality of this particular one https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/adventure-kings-aluminium-r…

          • @Ghos7: I've got one of these. It's not overly large. Is smaller than the OPs kmart table. A little flimsy and the slatted top can be annoying for cutlery but doubles as a dish rack if you stick plates and things in between the gaps.
The bag it fits into isn't the smallest either. It trades the flat fold style to more of a box size. Depends what's easier for you to store in the car.

I'm a fan of the roll-up tables. We take 2 of the Anaconda ones from back when they were $30 a piece. Bit smaller but nice and light and very compact to pack in the car. I 3D printed some adjustable feet for them too.

I see BCF has the square ones for $39, can get wider ones but a fair bit more $.

      • Oztrail did one with adjustable feet, not a bad little table if you need something compact.

Very disappointed to discover the Camp Dining Table isn't covered in sequins, or at least wearing a feather boa.

Stop stereotyping gay people. We are normal.

      • +2

What's camp got to do with being gay? As a gay person myself, I wholeheartedly agree we are normal. Even when wearing sequins or a feather boa. :-)

  • Looks like a new beer pong table :)

  • stock photo looks warped already lol

Due to being MDF, these things are buggered the second you leave them outside. Bit of dew or rain will resign them to hard rubbish.

  • I have a similar one from Kmart (a rectangle one and doesn't have the mesh under it) and it does feel like a cheapo. Still have it but I am taking extreme care. I don't like the chance it might survive even into the next year.
