Hey Ozbargainers, the headline says it all. Good food and good location for those working and living around the CBD. Also as per our recent discussion forum on Ozbargain on services related deals some of you felt that business did not try to impress you because you had already paid for the deal and most of you had mixed feelings on portion size and pre-set menus. So we would like to try something new and different here from now on all service deals, like restaurants and spas, you will now only pay a tiny amount to buy the voucher and rest straight to merchant after they "wow" you. Hope you enjoy all the things we have lined up…and this one.

The link you provided has more positive reviews than crital ones.
I have seen you posting before jv - all you seem to do is stir trouble in these posts. This review was recent and the review "seems credible", not a one-post wonder like some of the other reviews in there…

Also, look at the votes, 46% is a really low score, I wouldn't touch this place…
I would question how accurate urban spoon is… You have issues where people sockpuppet, you have issues where people deliberately down vote competition.
The restaurant has gone from 46% to 45% in the last 3 hours with only 72 reviews in total.
it's 72 votes, not 72 reviews. (there were 71 when i made my first post)
the review i posted was from someone how has submitted 25 reviews over a period of time, both good and bad across many different restaurants, so it's unlikely they are a sockpuppet…
when someone just joins ozbargain, and just happened to go to this restaurant, and has a good review for a deal that hasn't really had much support, suspicions are raised…
Yeah, I realise that… I used to wrong word. But the odds of someone having gone there and tried their food and posted their vote on it since this was posted is statistically pretty low.
Its one of the reasons I take urban spoon with a grain of salt. It's pretty good for finding good places, but I wouldn't use it to determine if somewhere is bad.
fair enough…
i usually look at the vote tally and then look at recent reviews trying to filter out those that look credible… not an easy task sometimes…

nice try at trolling, but I'll stick to commenting on the product…
if you notice, i didn't -ve the deal… just highlighting that this place may not be worth the savings…
you can do as you please and go there, but i'm sure there a much better Indian restaurants around…
Thanks JV but also just to mention the following comments on your link:

I got a takeaway dinner. Service very fast and the Vindaloo was awesome, spicy and authentic. Main dish, naan, rice and raita came to 28.50. Little pricey bit very tasty.

December 5, 2011Best Indian in Melbourne
by Dr MS (26 reviews)
This is one of the few places where you get authentic Indian food that's tasty and affordable. This is the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne, voted this way by not just me but a handful of real Indian food connoisseurs. Both Docklands and CBD are equally good. The Docklands one is a place for bigger groups and corporate functions. The city one is more cozy.
May 29, 201146% is a very very low score for urbanspoon..
also, you are quoting reviews from a year ago, not recent ones
One of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne ranks in the 40's on Urbanspoon as it provides the whole Hong Kong dining experience - which I love but ranks poorly in terms of service.
Stick to the reviews (as you did originally) and judge for yourself rather than worrying about a percentage score.
care to name ?

My memory is failing me, it ranks in the 60's and I confused the poor reviews on Google with the ones on Urbanspoon.
This looks like a great deal - it's just a shame about the restaurant. I know restaurant.com.au have something similar, but you pay more for well known, high quality restaurants.
can i give a neg for requires email address before you even see the deals?
Also, the more recent reviews from eatability aren't too flash…

in particular, read this about coupons there
When we entered the ambiance was really good however as soon as we showed the lady that we had coupon, the attitude was kind of different, she was curt and not really hospitable as one would except when we are dining without coupon. We had a kid and was disappointed to know they did not even have a high chair.
What a coincidence, I just am back from the restaurant. Should have to agree on attitude from waitress. They were definately not rude, but I would pray they smile a bit which fills our heart and stomach…
Food is good though, Best butter chicken ever :)
Shenanigans.
I'll get my broom
what a coincidence, your first post!
I've reported sockpuppeting and suggest others do the same…
that is very shady business practices!
What a coincidence, I just am back from the restaurant
Just joined today, happend to go to this restaurant with a +ve review and saw this thread…
You should get a lotto ticket, there's a jackpot Sat week…
Sorry Perumal, the crowd is tough here but thanks for the feedback and we are glad you liked the food.
Enough of the accusations. Stick to the deal and let the moderators do the investigations.
I've been there, the food is fine. (Although I reckon the Docklands one is a bit better.)
Mod: Removed personal attack
Docklands one is much better in terms of experience. Food for me is same. KingFisher beer and Tandoor chicken are yummy on my tummy :)
The docklands location is closed currently but the staff are all at the city location now.
That's a shame, the docklands one had some decent reviews…
You'd think they'd close the one with the bad reviews instead…
really…
yes… 75% like it.
