9.5/10 on Vacuum Wars: https://www.vacuumwars.com/ecovacs-deebot-t20-omni-review/

Their verdict:

We’re impressed with the Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni. It has every feature a robot vacuum could possibly have, and more importantly, it performed really well in all of our tests including vacuuming, mopping and obstacle avoidance. This may not only be the most complete premium robot vacuum you can buy, but also the best one.

Can vacuum, mop and auto empty. Also has 6000PA suction, which seems higher than most of the other models I was looking at.

The Amazon listing has a nice little comparison table comparing it to the other EcoVacs products, including the Deebot X1 and T10 which seem to be pretty popular here on OzBargain

Helpful link for how to get access to The Good Guys Commercial deals here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/tggc_access (I used G'day rewards)

  • Can you get an extended warranty through The Good Guys Commercial?

    • WHY? EW's are a waste of money. ACL covers you better than an EW. To answer your question - no.

      • Someone told me ACL doesn't cover commercial goods and buying through TGG Commercial implies a different set of regulations.

Can somebody let me know if that is bs?

        • I've only ever seen it as commercial quantities.

Commercial entities are consumers too but there are exceptions:

          https://www.accc.gov.au/business/selling-products-and-servic…
A business can be a consumer too. A product or service bought for business use is covered by consumer guarantees, when it meets at least one of the following conditions:

it costs less than $100,000 including GST
it is a product or service commonly bought for personal, domestic or household use
the good is a vehicle or trailer that is used mainly to transport goods on public roads.

A vacuum cleaner = yes, a flux capacitor as used for time travel = no.

          • @Hank Scorpion: Yep, this is correct, and I can say TGG commercial honour it. I just recently took back something bought through commercial and they treated it like any other purchase

          • @Hank Scorpion: Good to know, makes sense.

  • Cheap, but that is because the X2 Omni is coming out soon.

I just watched the vacuum wars review of this vacuum. He said if he had to pick his fave vac today this would be it. I wonder why people are still more keen on the Roborocks? Are they just better quality?

    • +1

The Roborock app is superior to the Ecovacs, Roborock also have a decent track record of updates / fixes to the robots compared to Ecovacs as well as a track record of quality product.

That being said I have just ordered this robot and am upgrading from a S5 Max. Happy to give them a go after Roborock got super greedy with the $2000 Q Revo.

      • Oooh would love to hear how you like it! The fact that the mop pads lift up higher than roborock is a selling point too :) Hoping to avoid wet rugs :P

Yes! Unbelievable they are charging $2000 for the Q Revo :(

I’ll post an update once it arrives, I got the local store to order one in and match this price so I could use some gift cards as well.

Having the pads lift was the main selling feature as well as the S5 does quite often end up wetting our rug and carpets.

Quick update, picked this one up a couple of days ago. Battery life is very mediocre compared to the S5 it's now charged twice trying to map not a massive house. Might have to try adjusting the cleaning mode to see if I can possibly get more out of it as we're using Turbo mode.

Mapping is definitely not as good took a bit for it to pick up on things the S5 found quickly and mapped more efficiently. I'll also say the mop lifting works really well but it won't help on high-pile carpet or rugs, can definitely feel the water on the top of the carpet.

To the positives, as above the mop lifting does work really well it picked up on carpet very quickly and lifted the mops quite high. I think a thinner mop pad (aftermarket perhaps) would resolve the issue of the pads running against high pile carpet.

The object avoidance is amazing, I was messing with it throwing stuff in the way and it avoided everything I threw at it, very impressed and without a camera which is really what I wanted for privacy. The avoidance also makes it better at not smacking into walls, I found this with my S5 it uses the bumper to find walls so hits quite hard however thanks to the object avoidance the bumper is used less and therefore it's not constantly hitting things.

It cleans very well, the extra power is definitely noticeable here but alas the battery life takes a beating. The omni station is massive, the images don't do it justice just keep that in mind if you decide to pick one up and the whole box it comes in is 15+ kg.

All in all I'm pretty happy with the purchase, my only gripe was just after getting it the X2 launched and is now available for a couple hundred extra. Early reviews have been raving about the corner pickup which has always been an issue with the round robot design, will wait to see some more reviews and might bite the bullet on returning and swapping for the X2.

          • @playaz91: Thanks for the detailed review!

I’m trying to measure the pile height on my rugs now- I don’t think they’re high pile but they might still get wet :(

That’s cool to hear about object avoidance too! We have a dog (and a baby now!) so definitely want it to avoid any 💩

I didn’t know about the X2! I’ll check that out as well.

Do you feel like it mops well/ do you find yourself having to refill the water for every mop?

@elliebargain: So I wrote my first update after about a week of having the unit, the honeymoon period ended super quickly lol.

Friday afternoon it started to remap the house basically duplicating the layout, never had this issue with my S5 so I deleted the map and had it create a new one, it did this successfully and completed the clean.

Ran it again on Saturday and once again it started remapping the house and couldn’t find its way back to the station, again I gave it another chance to remap however this time it mapped almost completely wrong and failed to find its home again. After a few more attempts it finally got a full map and I was able to complete a full clean.

Finally this morning the dogs brought dirt in and I decided to give it another go this time it mapped half the house and then just went around in circles because it thought the dock had moved.

This was kinda the last straw, I had initially struggled to map the house but didn’t mention it in great detail in my original reply as I thought this was a once off but now that I’ve had to remap 4 times I’ve had enough.

The software just isn’t good enough so I’ve just dropped it back to the good guys and got a refund. This is a shame as the object avoidance is very good and when it worked I was happy with the cleaning performance. Not sure if it’s possibly faulty but I did see other reviews that mentioned similar issues.

Credit to the good guys I was able to get a refund, and after a bit of back and forth with JB they price matched the Q Revo to the JB Commercial pricing and I’ve now got another Roborock.

              • @playaz91: Oh wow, that sounds so frustrating! that’s great you were able to get a refund though! And awesome JB matched JB commercial.

Hopefully you have much better luck with the Q revo!!!

I tried to get one via Union Shopper. They said that with GGC there is an embargo so they can't sell them at the moment, it may improve later in the month. They also deal with JB HI FI commercial who can offer it for $1515.
