This portable, black Weber Baby Q 50010224 is loaded with features to give you plenty of cooking flexibility. Its compact size gives you the convenience of barbecuing on the go so you can take it to the beach, away on camping, or simply use it in the backyard to feed a smaller crowd of up to six people. It uses natural convection to cook food quickly and evenly with the lid down, making it economical to run. With the Weber 50010224 you'll barbecue up to one hundred meals using the same 1 x 9 kilo gas bottle. Plus, the Baby Q's cooking uses are endless, from steaks on the grill, to fish or salmon on the optional hot plate accessory or crusty pizza on the optional pizza stone. Roast a succulent chicken or lamb with a perfect brown finish or even bake an apple pie using the optional Baby Q Convection Tray and Baby Q Trivet - it transforms your Baby Q into an oven in just seconds. The heat circulates all around the food for faster cooking and better flavour. • Weber eBay also have the Q2200 for $499 delivered

  • What's the deal with Weber, they always seem overpriced. The Spirit BBQ are $1000, are they even worth it?

    • Spirits are basically a beer can.. the good Weber Genesis II are $2900+. It's a lot for a bbq but very little competition now that Beefeater got bought by Electrolux. So Weber is the best quality you can get in BBQs now.

There is one other bbq which is ok… Ziggy and brown Turbo Elite.

      • And what makes them such good quality? I have the predecessor to the Ziggy, and its good but not worth 5x the price of the Bunnings Matador range.
The Weber's do feel solid, but I doubt they last much longer and end up on the verge after 5 years anyways?

        • All these BBQs you'll get 15+ years out of them. It's just the components, quality of materials, spare parts are all readily available.
As for Weber, they have a warehouse dedicated to spare parts even dating back to 1980s so spares are always available.

I don't know what spares are like for Ziggy..

Weber is actually in the top 5 for customer satisfaction.. up there with Miele and a couple of other brands.

          • @[Deactivated]: Spare parts? Are we treating BBQs like cars now?

Overall, Weber doesn't seem very Ozbargain-like….

            • @specwarop: If you buy a $100 jumbuck and throw it out on a curbside after Australia day, then of course these BBQs won't be for you. (The average consumer BBQs from Grand final day to Australia day)

My last Beefeater i purchased in 2011 and threw out in 2022 - nothing wrong with it just uograded. Was a $900 Beefeater. That's the calibre of these BBQs.

Even Weber Q people have for 6-9 years. For a $749 bbq that's pretty good! On average that's way cheaper than even a cheap nasty Jumbuck!

              • @[Deactivated]: Had my Weber Q Family for around 15 years, still going strong and the only thing that needs replacing is the battery for electric ignition. Very happy with Weber and will definitely replace with another one when the time comes.

  • It seems like that have a whole range on sale on their website. I've been looking for a Weber for a while and might pull the trigger here. The Family Q and Titanium Q seem to have a few models on sale with the difference of a couple of bucks between them. My question is there a difference between some of these newer models and older ones?

    • +1

I'd say going for the ones with the Temperature gauge is always the best bet.

      • +1

        1200, 2200 and 3200
These are only available from Weber stores or Weber specialist dealers. The lid is also higher for cooking whole chickens and roasting.

  • I think theres a new model coming out soon hence the discounts
