      "•Prices include 10% GST + Tax Invoice."

      DID you read the note?

      • +2

"Tax Invoice" is not mentioned on the ebay site. Since you bought it from ebay, you can only 'complaint' any issue based on the statements from ebay

"Speed — Up to 80MB/s read. Up to 30MB/sec write, applies to the first 20 MB of data transfer."

Not even sure what that means - is it implying they somehow have only used decent memory chips for a tiny percentage of the total storage and it'll be dog slow after?

    • -1

"applies to the first 20 MB of data transfer" sounds like the buffering that built into OS's to me.

    • Sustained write speed 25MB/s - tested personally

"Sustained write speed 25MB/s - tested personally"

REP - would you kindly post some test results on one of these 64GB 'sticks'?

    • It's referring to the burst speed which is quicker than the sustained speeds.

    "genuine products"

That's reassuring, given how many knock-offs of the famous "Master" brand have been flooding the market lately.

    • +4

Saw a cheap knockoff called Meister on ebay. Looked exactly like this too. When i see a uni student rocking a Master USB stick, i know he's doing alright for himself.

When I was at uni students were rocking 3.5" floppies.

        • +3

That brings back memories. The first five of the six years I spent as an undergrad were with floppies. Use to carry around a little red case with about 5 of them from memory.

Then, at the beginning of my last year, I got a mate to purchase two 256Mb sticks for $300 from overseas. Seems expensive by today's standards but I used one for uni material (I was getting sick of CD-RW) and the other for downloading personal stuff from the library computers… which didn't require a login at the time. Meant I didn't need to get ADSL at home just yet which would have been $60/mth min for 10-15Gb.

These days, ADSL is cheap and USB sticks are even cheaper.

          5.25" young fella…

        • Um, students were using 5.25" when I was in primary school. I'm not that "young".

        • Pretty sure jv was referring to a different type of floppy, and it ain't discs ;)

    Tough crowd…

  • Anyone know if this can be attached to a keyring somehow?

  • cool item.

  • Sustained write speed 25MB/s - tested personally

    • fyi that about the slowest usb3 drive I have ever seen.

      • +1

but much faster than Sandisk with their 4-5MB/s :)
        and cheaper

        • Yeah but the Sandisk 3.0 sticks blow these out of the water.

Still, good to know 64GB sticks are getting cheaper.

      Just how "special"?

    CRystalDiskInfo stats for 64Gb anyone?

  • I wish you had a reasonably priced 128gb sd card with 45mbs+ read and write speeds :(

    • will be soon, so far $89 for 128GB USB 3.0

      • thanks at the moment I am watching a Lexar 128gb sd card with guaranteed read write speeds of 45mbs+ for $129 but would prefer to buy in Sydney, I can =wait a few weeks if you are getting them

    • Unless Sandisk stops selling drives w/ 100MBs, I can't see 20MBs being very compelling.

      • I have been selling Sandisk Extreme and qualiy is very poor - 15% defect rate.
        Sandisk has stopped their production

        • So 85% of people enjoy 100+mb/s write speeds?

        • 15% - faulty drives

        • Selective answering is not an attractive trait.

What's the defect rate on your 'master' drives?

        • I meant particularly Sandisk Extreme USB 3 series
as for Master less than 1%

  • $32/32GB drive which may provide 83% x "6o MB/s", or in other words, be 100% more speedy than this "25MB/s(=41.5%)" slug of a'USB 3': =ADATA S102 Pro. Rated@ 50 MB/s; therefore drive filled in 10min, as opposed to 40 (Master).

Cost will be $1.15/GB to veritably reach USB2/max 60MB/s transmission, based on Sandisk Extreme (AUD37) from HK. :1oo MB speeds x USB 3, and future ready.

See http://www.squidoo.com/best-usb-3-0-flash-drive for in depth benchmarking across the brands.

  • Price drop now $36.50 incl postage

  • I'd happily pay $27 for the S102 PRO 32GB. /So jealous of the US.
