Seems to be cheaper at bpctech at $199 +shipping https://www.bpctech.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/7725/ though depends on shipping. $14 vs $28 for metro Melbourne at least saving $5

  • How about this? Double VA and Watt, only $249.

I have had this unit for years and is still sitting in storage after getting an upgrade from CyberPower eventually.

Tried to run a 8-bay NAS (up to 100W) + SFF PC (repurposed as a server, up to 150W) on it for ~3 years. Apparently when all HDDs spin up in the NAS, the UPS will start to complain about over current. Luckily it did not cut off the power for protection. I know it's supposed to have 650VA and 400W, but it just won't do it when actual energy use is near the upper limit.

So in reality these small APC UPSs really doesn't do much. I'd say just buy a similar-priced Eaton or CyberPower with more capacity. The cheapest CyberPower seems to be a line-interactive model as well, which is considered better than a stand-by (back-up) one.

The gladiator gaming UPS for $199 seems a bargain now.

  • Modified sine. For that price I'd be hoping to get full sinewave. Otherwise I'd be sticking with the cheaper cyberpower units you can pickup for $100 around taxtime.

Actually, with so many devices scattered around the house that need time to gracefully shutdown, I've been looking at 12v "ups" (really just small powerbanks). You can get them for $15 on aliexpress. They look good but whats really missing with them is a way to communicate a shutdown signal. They're great if your home and the circuit breaker trips, but otherwise not all that good.

    • I have one hooked up to my modem/router. Lasted about 3 hours when I upgraded my router with fibre upgrade which now also requires a UPS for the NTD :(

  • What about this for around the same money?
APC BACK UPS BX1200MI-AZ 1200VA 230V AVR $209 + pickup/postage. And qualifies for the $50 movie ticket offer.

  • These two look good to be a deal to me given free delivery, I guess depending on where you are based.
