This one is bad, the rubber edge of the case gets rippled upwards after a few months

    • Oh dear lord I just bought one lol.. I can return it though. Do you have any suggestions for an alternative?

My son has had this for about 6 months and had no problems. Unlike the Apple keyboard, this is backlit. He is very happy with it.

Check the 1 star review on Amazon then you will see how it will look like after a few months, function wise I think combo touch is great if not better than Smart Keyboard, but its build quality is really poor…

I posted this deal a little while back as well. I bought it then. Have no issues with mine.

      • I've had mine for 6+ months without issue. Great keyboatd/case.

      • Likewise I’ve had this case for ages and no problems. Highly recommend

I have one of these and there is a little bit of flaring out where the holes for speakers are, it’s mild imo though. Other than that I have found it to be great. 6months+ of use.

    • I agree with you. Mine lasted for about 14 months, all of sudden keyboard stopped working. Shame that warranty is only for a year.

      • I’m pretty sure ACL still covers you for 2 years, regardless of what the manufacturer promises. You should definitely speak to Logitech about it.

      CharityCase isn’t wrong.

This is the older model, where there is a continuous empty strip for the speaker holes.

After about a few months to a year of use, the rubber strip around the holes will stretch and deform, to the point they get very obvious.

It’s common because regular use will usually see you holding the edges, and invariably one will hold the edge where the speaker holes are.

The newer model (2022) rectified this by switching to dot holes instead. It’s a design fault.

Speaking from experience and owning a few models of this case, of both sizes.

      • THIS.

      • Is there a easy way to tell the difference between the old and new models when ordering online?

      • I have the newer model and it still warps. Really unsightly tbh

    • Yes I bought one for my iPad Air in early 2022, and the area around the speakers deformed within a couple of months.

Otherwise it is a great product though.

  • Graphite is only $179.

      For different iPad models.

      • Why is it even in the same listing… SMH

  • I have the folio touch, not sure if it’s the same as this model but I found the folio case adds a bit of weight. Nothing extreme but still enough for me to get annoyed using the folio!

  • +1

They add quite a bit of weight and there's no pencil holder. The lack of pencil holder is very annoying. It's heavier than a decent 13" laptop once the case weight is added.

But it does work very well and seamless. Had one for the 11" for quite a while, didn't skip a beat. Sold it in the end due to weight and lack of pencil holder.

    • What is the best keyboard for ipad?

      • +1

Probably this one. The trackpad makes quite a difference over non trackpad keyboard.

Really good quality build. Solid keyboard experience and travel, and I'm quite picky with my keyboards. Good satisfyingly not mushy thud while typing.

      • Te best keyboard for an ipad is the one you have.

Though if you want to shell out some money, what you can do is lug around something like this:

Otherwise, I personally think the logitech folio touch is pretty good, trackpad is smooth. But its flat and not ergonomic.

  • +2

Will probably get negged for this comment. This is overall a great keyboard for the ipad. A few of my school mates had them and they felt high quality - with the added bonus of easily folding it such that you can write ergonomically. Only drawback is that the travel on the keyboard is not very far and may be unsatisfying for some.

It is quite pricey for essentially a keyboard integrated in a case. I suppose the Smart Connector compatibility and the brand justifies it. I myself would prefer getting a normal ipad case with the K380, but that may be bulky.

    • +1

I started with K380 but that was painful as it’s bulky and doesn’t have a trackpad. Then I moved to Magic Keyboard for Mac and Magic trackpad, happily used for a month or so until I tried this one from my friend. Then pulled the trigger immediately.

It is a game changer for a few reasons.
1, comparing to Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad, this is around the same weight but way better protection.
2, it has all function keys and backlit.
      3, way cheaper than Apple’s.
4, comparing to using bluetooth e.g. keyboard K380 and Apple Magic Keyboard for MAC, this doesn’t requires you to turn on the keyboard every time or reactive after idle. And most importantly, you are not carrying multiple stuff!

Only downside I found it takes a large desk realestate due to the kick stand, and not practical when using on lap.

      High recommended.

The ones for 11-inch are more expensive :-(

    • Ikr, also looking for the 11 inch one. Had the magic keyboard but the viewing angle is just bothering me so much.

  • My one dies after 12 months

  • Bought this for my 11" over a year ago. It's been going strong and I haven't had issues with stretching.
