The “you can register 4 devices but only watch on one at a time” absolutely kills this service. Not to mention the crap stream quality which is barely 720p. Can’t wait until a provider that can actually deliver a quality service gets the EPL rights.

      Like Stan?

      • +1

I’ve never subscribed to Stan but they offer sport in 4K so I’d say yes.. like Stan.

        • Fair enough
I was only being sarcastic, apparently Stan gets a lot of hate online, even more than Optus.

Alll I wanted was the official Ozbargain hoodie btw, damn I am not getting it anymore I reckon.

          • +1

@Gervais fanboy: All good no problem. I’ve no experience of Stan either to be honest.

            • @gidxg03: Stan is very bad at making match highlights for UCL and UEL on YouTube, that's partly why people are hating them more than Optus, which quite decent highlights for EPL games

    • I didn't know the "only watch on one device at a time" was a thing, but there it is, clause 5.1 of the Terms and Conditions.

If that is the case how are so many people sharing Optus Sport accounts in the OzB forums?

      • I know this comment is over a week old, but they're not sharing. Just selling what is included as part of their mobile/internet package.

I know Optus isn't at blame (as easy it is to punch down on them), but just over 75% of the games being paywalled in the country co-hosting it is a shame.

  • +4

Shame this wasn't offered at the start of the women's world cup.. although I'm sure it will still do alright for the round of 16.

The 7plus streaming quality has actually been really good for the Matilda's games so hopefully this is comparable

    • I highly recommend people look into Smart DNS or VPN options to access the BBC iPlayer and ITV streams for this World Cup and future sporting events. BBC/ITV has always worked flawlessly for me, so much so that I couldn't bothered subscribing to Optus Sport for this tournament even at their discounted rate. BBC was also the easiest way Aussies could get a 4K/UHD stream for Qatar 2022 and Euro 2020 (in 2021).

    • Really. I can't seem to stream anything on the 7plus app on 2 devices I've tried. 'MediaCodecVideoRenderer error'. Thought it was just an issue with my phone, but tried my tablet and had the same issue.
Can steam through the website browser (Firefox), but quality has generally been crap and stuttery. I have no issues with other streaming…

  • 1 month is the best they can do? Hmmmm

    Still not interested.

Great service, great value. Worth a try at $10 for first month

    • +1

It's not a great service or great value. Even at $10 a month it's barely worth it.

    • used to be free when you have a subscription with them.
Now its full of ads as well.

    • they used to be $6 per month

  • +1

Is this the only deal available with EPL starting up in a week?

    • What service are you on for $15 per month with access to some epl matches?

        • +1

Well, are you going to keep your provider's name a secret or are you going to share?

            • @kazer: Would love to know as well if you could shoot a PM?

            • @kazer: I'd also like to know if you don't mind please

        • I would also like to know if you are able to also pm me! Cheers mate

  • +1

when the heck did this become $24.99 a month?

    • It's only $6.99 if you have an Optus mobile or internet plan.

    • +1

when they added la liga and hijack all the epl fans

  • $10 to watch the rest of the tournament is a reasonable deal.

  • Didn't this used to be 5 bucks back in the day?

  • Cheers OP, would have done $6.99 as mother-in-law is with Optus but too hard to get account details, so was contemplating $24.99 as daughter wants to see more games but Ozbargainer in me couldn't bring myself to pay full price.

Yes, ads are annoying as f but overall reasonable value for $10 & there are some excellent games coming up this weekend
