Wow that pilot is getting close to my outrageous $60 claim….

    • what claim?

      • +3

Just made a claim you could get this for $60 and got my ass handed to me lol…..im salty

        • +2

Link here haha. All I said was you should post it because I thought you found it for $60.

Also in an older post you claimed to have bought it for about $85. That was the cheapest I'd ever seen it.

        • +4

Positive or negative, I always enjoy witnessing these random relationships formed over OzBargain deals.

So now to both of you, do I wait on the claim that I can one day get this watch for $60 or do I buy now?

  • decisions . decisions. Pilot on ss or leather?

    • +3

Either will look good on you.

      • +1

        dang

        • +1

A 39mm watch is going to feel too small for you after wearing the Steeldive SD1970.

    • +1

Buy ss so that you know the band will fit, and you can always chuck on a leather later.

      • +1

Agree. Always get the SS from new.

@Jimothy Wongingtons - I've got a similar steeldive but I put a dark brown leather strap on. Otherwise IMHO there's too much black. SD give the sunburst dial as well. exhibit A

  • What’s the chance that a watch from AliExpress actually has a Sapphire crystal lens?

    • Plenty of YouTube videos doing crystal hardness testing and proving that they are in fact sapphire.

    • All my AliExpress watches advertised as sapphire is actually sapphire when I tested it myself.

      • Of course they are, plenty of reviews and tests and, can tell by looking at them too mostly.

Best to stick to reputable stores and sellers though but sapphire crystal really isn't that expensive.

but sapphire crystal really isn't that expensive.

Must be from wherever Seiko source it from!

          • @O15: Ha, their proprietary crystal isn't bad but for RRP above $700 it really should be sapphire. Anyway I guess you're paying extra for the name, styling and packaging.

About as good of a chance as Ukraine winning , suck it up America/NATO !

    Pretty cheap @WatchNerd

A warning on the tuna homage, the stated weight is 216g which is pretty hefty.
Even my oris on the ss bracelet is 184g and certain feel the weight of that.

Tunas aren't that expensive to begin with (from A$200 ish) so probably no point getting a homage (unless you really like the steel bezel, band and weight) but all personal preference. Seikio Solar is great, accurage and nice and light watches given the bulky look.

  • That is very good value, lotta watch for the money. Japanese movement, solid looking build, sapphire crystal with Anti Reflective coating. Bracelet and clasp are a bit on the cheaper side, but watch head is looks solid. Clearly "inspired" by the IWC mark XX, which will run you a lot more than 70 bucks..

    • I actually prefer the cheaper one. A LOT of watch for the money too.

  • Does this (Auto Pilot) have solid endlinks? Can't quite see from the photos/video.

  • Is there any mini tuna deals?

  • How do you get $69.50? Comes up as $98 for me. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005005767525762.html?spm=a2g…

    • I've marked it as expired.

    • Same, missed it.

  • Looks like a lot of watch for the money.
Do you think I could consider these to be good beaters?

    • +1

      Oh God not this again!

    • Yes.
      Watches don't get much cheaper.

  • Can i add this Auto Pilot to my Holden?
