Joseph Joseph Elevate 100 Knives Carousel Set $155 Delivered / C&C (Extra 50% off $310) @ MYER

The Joseph Joseph 100 Collection is a unique range of products specially selected for their highly original form and innovative function. For this exclusive collection, each product has been redefined using premium materials and a restrained colour palette to create a distinctive range of contemporary kitchenware.

Elevate 100 Knives bring new levels of quality and refinement to the range. The blades are made from ice-hardened, German stainless steel, strengthened with vanadium for extra durability. They have hand-finished, taper-ground edges, producing a wedge-shaped profile that cuts more effectively and stays sharper for longer. Their ergonomic, soft-grip handles provide added comfort and grip - even when wet - and they have discreet colour-coded dots on their handles that aid knife selection when stored in a knife block.

The Elevate 100 Knives Carousel Set is wrapped in high quality, brushed 18/8 stainless steel and is reassuringly sturdy. It has a non-slip base and universal, magnetic knife slots that hold the knives securely in place when stored. This innovative design means that any Elevate 100 knife can be stored in any slot, regardless of its blade length.

    Does it hold 100 knives?

    • You mean the set doesn’t include 100 knives?

How do you get the stuck food trapped inside the slots out? I would just get a magnetic wooden block, looks much nicer than these hard to clean, dust and oil magnet stainless steel "insert knife" blocks. And buy quality knives whilst at it.

Also it's $95 at Kogan (yep, gross)

Are you not cleaning the knives before you put them away? What are you talking about?

      • -1

It's common knowledge not to put knives in the dishwasher.

        • +9

It’s not, but that aside, do you think there’s no other way to clean them?
Say you run out of toilet paper, do you just put your pants back on and just get on with your life or do you figure something else out?

          • @NuttyGoodness: NuttyGoodness, the whole bus is staring at me wondering why I can't stop laughing. Thanks!

Point taken. What I was trying to get at is that dust and other particles settles inside the slot with no easy way to clean it. Basically it's not a very sanitary way to store knives.

    $95 at dick smith?

    • +1

Yep. Has the same picture with the hand placing knife back in carousel.
It is criminal that Myers ever sold these for $399

If you're spending this much, just buy globals.

  • So nice they named it twice

  • +1

if anyone is wondering they're X50CrMoV15 steel so around HRC56
Which makes them good but not extraordinary knives should wear and hold and edge ok and not be to hard to sharpen

Tbh Joseph Joseph is not a good brand considering the price tag. In the same price range, OXO is much better in overall design and quality.
