Perhaps it's not just about the price.
prob because I prefer the ketchup, but a good dupe is the Aldi tomato sauce. I get the 2 litre bottles and decant into the heinz bottles
Ketchup is different than tomato sauce
Probably only in Australia
If you ask for tomato sauce in America they’ll probably give you passata.
maybe they need tomatoe sauce today and can’t wait for a cheaper deal …. i prefer ketchup but guess that personal preference.
It’s a different product. But this is both cheaper and better.
Definitely prefer the Heinz Ketchup to the Tomato Sauce.
What's the difference? Isn't ketchup just american for tomato sauce
The taste is different. Try both and see the difference for yourself and what you prefer.
The Kikkoman Soy Sauce of Tomato Sauce
Is that a good thing?
Man, they sure push that fat free. Is tomato sauce otherwise chock full of fat? Surely not.
Not sure I've tried this one but I don't have an IGA anyway sadly.
I don't believe they normally pump the red sauce full of fat. My assumption is it's exclusively marketing/pandering to the people who grew up in a time where fat was demonised (hence why we still have so many light/low fat offerings for cream and other products)
It's similar to how they market jerky as a source of protein or potatoes as gluten free
So ridiculous. Fat free tomato sauce…
Salt/sugar reduced, I get. But yeah. So dumb.
No fat but loaded with sugar
In fact, this has similar sugar to the Masterfoods at WW. But there is the reduced salt & sugar one that comes with 2/3 sugar
Don't drink it and you'll be alright.
Best before?
These bottles (the lids specifically) are infuriating. It is impossible to squirt a small amount sauce due to the pressure needed to break the seal.
I honestly think they deliberately use these lids now so you waste sauce.
i think it's to keep air born spores out so has extended life outside of fridge and also becasue it's stored upside down stops sauce flowing out when you open lid upside down …… I also hate the pressure seal and transfer to 500ml normal squeeze bottles ….. sad thing is masterfoods don't do 500ml tomato sauce anymore as it was a great way to get 500ml squeeze bottles.
Not sure why this gets more upvotes when this is cheaper
