Shame they don’t stock the 256 GB.

I have this and won’t buy it again as I don’t like the camera especially the night shots. Best to get pro if pictures mean anything to you, otherwise it’s a top class phone.

    • -6

Can get iphone 12 pro 256 pristine from Reebelo for same price.

    • top class 60hz phone?

    • Only with the Wide lens. The standard lens on the two phones are practically the same. An extra f0.1 aperture wouldn't make a huge difference

      • +1

The absence of LiDAR sensor in non-pro model is very prominent during night shots.

        • +1

Interesting. I didn't really think of that. Thanks!

  • I pulled the trigger on one for my wife. Gambled that the iPhone 15 release won’t see them fall much further.

I had to re-read that a couple of times

    iphone14 128gb starlight $1149 - 1 available, yes genuine au stock/seller

    • +5

Not worth an extra $150 over this one.

      • +2

if you're upgrading from 13 to 14 I agree, if from something older i'd go the 14, 13 is overpriced was $999 a year ago will fall further once 15 comes out

        • +2

The 13 and 14 are almost identical, I wouldn't pay 15% more for the 14.

  • I have this phone and plan to upgrade with the new iPhone, it does the job

    HODL!

  • Is this dual SIM?

    • Since when is iPhone dual SIM?

      • +4

Since iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR or later

(plastic SIM + eSIM for AU models)

        • Ic, I thought it was referring to dual physical SIM like some phone does.

          • @John: With iPhone you can dual SIM with 1x plastic SIM & 1x eSIM

iPhone 13 models and later can also have 2x eSIM active at once (so you can dual SIM with 1x plastic SIM & 1x eSIM, or 2x eSIM)

            • @b3au: Not that it'd be any use but can you triple sim at the same time?

              • +2

@CVonC: Nah, it's either / or - max of 'dual' SIM active at once

(but you can store multiple eSIMs on the phone, and toggle them on and off as you need to - eg for roaming, or for gumtree/Facebook marketplace numbers, or a work number…)

    • Yes 1x nano sim and 1x esim

    • Yep - either 1x plastic SIM and an eSIM, or 2x eSIM active at once.

New USB-C fast charge & super fast Data transfer coming with iP15. Why being stuck with archaic non-compatible connectors? All you need is USB-C to USB-C for everything. I have >10 different types of devices with USB-C that supports 12x faster charge/2 direction charging, 100x faster data, many devices/screens…

PS. How's that super Retina when the Human Retina can resolve 720+ pixels per degree (ppd) at 30cm & the iPhone has 460ppi? That's marketing gimmick for inferior Retina (others use Dynamic AMOLED 2X & don't use marketing terms ;)

A note on the support side of things - IMO Apple support is abysmal as of recently. Walk in for help only to have someone tell you to waste your time and book an appointment instead, come back another day for said appointment, get directed to sit in a corner for 10 minutes, then finally told in 30 seconds that your issue cannot be fixed - but here's a business card for a third-party repairer! The old Next-Byte retail store used to provide vastly superior Apple support back in the day.

    • +4

Apple Stores haven't provided walk in service for over a decade.

They've also never provided data recovery or IC repairs which I am assuming is what you got referred for.

    • +2

      I sense misinformation

No-one does it better than Apple. The stories of support going beyond requirements are endless. A friend took a laptop in for expensive upgrades and because it was delayed for a week or two Apple did it free.

    • As an ex employee of the Genius Bar, you are defo missing important info in your story. Third party repairer means you either had a vintage product or you already had a third party repair and your issue was with that component.

Plus apple stores have had appointments for the Genius Bar for bloomin years buddy….

    • Walk in to buy something…
      Genius bar needs an appointment…

    • Further context - I was both purchasing a new device and requiring support to migrate from old device with cracked screen. The legacy iPhone X no longer had touch response and FaceID working - thus I was forced to buy a new device. It still turned on and I could see the lock screen, however when plugging into a PC to perform backup I'm unable to touch the iPhone screen to respond/trust/unlock. My data is all still there, underneath over-security, I just needed it moved over to the newly purchased device.

      • I have a similar issue, no touch ID when plugged in. I changed the lightning cable, all works again. Worth a try.

I am surprised to see people paying 1K for this phone today.

    • Don’t be surprised, this will last good 4-5 years for those who don’t need too many features.

  • Most good quality phones are around the 1k mark
    Even Yaris are $30,000

  • Midnight in stock for same price. also 1 QTY for starlight color.
