Hello Ozbargainers,

This product(ubank Neat Variable Home Loan) might not be suitable to everyone but a good option to consider if you are after a variable rate home loan with minimal fees. Especially if you have a larger loan balance and low LVR.

ubank is one of the cheapest in the market for variable rate home loans at the moment and is owned by NAB.

Days of refinance cashback seems to be very limited, only few options left.

Refer to this link for details about other interest rates for ubank, for this product and other products they offer.

Fees for ubank neat variable home loan are $250(Loan Advance Fee) at the start and $300 to exit. I have been able to get the $250 fees waived before and will try to get it waived if you go via me. Refer to this link for more details about fees.

This product does not have an offset account option. If you need an offset account then you can consider "Own Variable" Home Loan. The rates start from 5.79% p.a. (CR 6.03% p.a.) for that one and there is a fee of $250/year on top of $250 fee at the start.

uBank has a very limited appetite for self employed customers. If you are self employed, then other options might need to be explored. Pease feel free to call me on my mobile number provided below and I can look at other options for you. You can also book an obligation-free appointment in my calendar

    • hi @Tleyx, there is an offset option available, as explained above. It's 0.05 more than the basic one.

UBank should first fix android app before selling anything because Ubank screwed existing customers by forcing them to migrate to new UBank app and then telling them old bank number won't work after 31st July… !

Your new UBank app is such a pain not sure why NAB bought 86400 and decided to force everyone from once great old UBank app and system that was more customer friendly… !

    • not sure why

They screw you over so that you're thinking to port out, wasn't that working ? LOL

  • Hsbc has a decent deal. Anyone thought of this as an option?

Wouldn't it be better to wait to see what the rates are going to do tomorrow?

    • Hi @onetwothreefour, fair point. The rates call will be held tomorrow. Hopefully they leave it on hold and not cause any more pain. Fingers crossed.

not for me, I'm hoping for another boost on my HISA.

          fair enough.

  • Any benefits over Unloan who are at 5.59% ?

    • +1

Hi @alfawex, You have brought up a very good question. Unloan is definitely better at this stage. And I hope they prove to be the same going forward. I as a broker do not have them on my panel so cannot write to them.

The only problem I have seen with these new lenders is that they either don't survive and if they do then they don't stay competitive. Athena, One Tow Home Loans and a few others started very strongly. Athena is no more competitive and who knows how many days one two will survive.

  • What about variable Bendigo bank with offset and redraw 5.72 %
