The markups are getting higher. Did a Uber eats pickup the other day. The difference was 6 dollars between store and Uber eats. The Uber eats promotions made it cheaper.
The problem is that most non-chain places dont have a good system of ordering.
I dont want to show up, order and wait 15-20mins.
Plenty of ordering platforms out there (for pickup).
Hell, do it by phone.
No instead, jack up prices 20-30, blame covid, blame delivery services and choose not to have a rewards system for actual in-store purchases.
