I buy from the US because it's much cheaper even including the delivery costs and the currency exchange.
And I don't trust the Australian Bosch distributor because the tools are overpriced (still made and delivered from Asia) and also when I asked for technical support they only told me to look at the new (super overpriced) tools range like I asked them suggestion on what tool to buy!
    Avoid these guys!!!

OP there is NOTHING new here because these fake redemption offers are always running.

Have redeemed a couple batteries fine, so the promo works as expected.

Aussie tax is nothing new, of course would expect the products to be cheaper in other markets. Scanning Amazon.com the prices with shipping are slightly lower e.g. Jigsaw $270 AUD vs Sydney price $289.

Where do you source the tools from the US? Amazon.com?
What sort of warranty do you get?
Does it beat the convenience of being able to walk into Bunnings/Sydneys and have the tool fixed/replaced/swapped over on the spot? International returns would be a PITA for any serious professional.

That is the typical question when you already have your own answer so that is not the right way to have conversations on forums, just keep doing your own way.

Sorry to upset you, was keen to learn where you source from US, may use this avenue in the future. Have a good weekend!

        Cheers, have a great weekend.

PS. Bosch heat gun on Amazon.com is $239 vs $233 in-store here at Sydneys and Total Tools. Wouldn't make much sense buying from US ?

Don’t worry OP. I wouldn’t be taking too much notice of old matey. Doesn’t have a super strong history of quality purchases. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/787470

Thanks bud. Old matey seems to be a few cycles short of a full charge.

Probably bought some "Botch" brand skins from US instead. I'll buy offshore if the deal is right but apart from getting lucky with the occasional prime day or black friday deal a local sale will usually be better value. Bosch is an outlier in relative pricing with Aussie price often very close to US.
In terms of deals on Bosch blue and I don't think anything has come close to the Blackwoods clearance last year.

      • My 65 dollar grinder from the blackwoods clearance is one of my favourite deals off here.

        • $50 bandsaw, $65 shears rrp $720!
Unless you scored one of those bunnings price error drones this was the gold standard for ozb deals!

          • @mauricem: That one left a sour taste for me unfortunately. Bandsaw and nibbler ordered and processed. Finally refunded 10-12 months later after clarifying with them what the go was. But hey I got a well quality grinder for 65. Cheering.
