Spotify have announced price hikes for their premium service.

TLDR:
Individual goes up 1 dollar to 12.99
Duo goes up 2 dollars to 17.99
Family goes up 2 dollars to 20.99
Student plan up to 6.99
Effective September.
My wifes been paying for Duo for about 4 years now using her Indonesian account, 71490idr a month ($7.03AUD)
not the cheapest in the world but happy to pay as there's no fear of getting vpn/card blocked.
also whats interesting is they have a daily package called 'mini', its 2500 a day (25c)
The way these sub services are going it's looking like time for a hefty culling & a virtual trip to Turkey for the rest. It's just gouging & greed at this point
Price hike is nominal. We pay much more than $1-2 as card surcharge per month :P
Was never signed up with them, and never will. I've both YouTube music and Amazon prime music and figure it's sufficient for me.
Just See the poll, people still stupid enough to stick around living a price rise - which I’m sure is justified somehow with increased quality and volume of music provided?
Obvious the rate rises aren’t affecting many people
Are they stupid? Or are they just rich enough that the increase doesn't register or matter to them? If you were earning $1m a year, a $1-2 month increase is not even noticeable

My bro and sis do use Spotify so it seems they'll be staying put

Why is Spotify more popular when quality is much worse?
Spotify is for only 1 thing, uploading j## ####n podcasts on ozbargains and making money of it.
Apart from that Spotify has no purpose.

I just use the free version and listen on my PC with the webplayer in Chrome using adblocker. Works just the same.
Can't really use it in the car. But I have amazon music of FIP radio for that.
is there any way to go old school and download mp3s and put them into apple music?
