  • Need another deal on the bike stand - so sad I missed out!

    • can go interstate to get one if ya desperate :)

  • Cheers, picked 2 up.

  • These aren’t great for frequent use. I purchased as family member struggled with wall hanger.

They weren’t more comfortable using this setup.

    • Well, they probably shouldn’t have mounted it above their bed then ;)

    Any good as interogation device?

    Asking for a friend.

These contraptions are great for flat things like roof top tents and kayaks that can live above your car, but seems like quite an overengineered solution for a bike that is going to hang pretty low unless you have a really tall garage. Under most conditions it would seem quite difficult to make use of the space underneath. I guess better to have more than not enough solutions that can fit specific storage problems.

    • Put the kids’ bikes under! Just gets the whole pile a bit closer to the wall

    • contraption 😅 very accurate word indeed

Had a look at this previously - can confirm amazon review impression that it's pretty lightweight - I wouldn't be trusting it in the long term to lift and hold bike - definately not a kayak - reliably to park or walk underneath. If I had to use this solution for a bike I'd probably just pay the extra dollars for an roof mounted electric hoist with double sling ~100 and then you don't have to worry about pulleys etc. But as above I think there are better storage solutions out there.

    • How heavy are your bikes? So long as you use decent fasteners I can't see how this to too lightweight to lift and hold a normal bike.

I use six of these. Four kayaks and two bicycles for the last ten years. I don't trust them for the kayaks so once hoisted I manually tie each end. The rope is not great quality and one rope broke due to perishing. But since i had the backup ropes it was not a problem. I have replaced all of the ropes for the ones used for the kayaks. The rest of the device has lasted well and don't seem to have worn at all.

I use these to hoist my two tri-fold ladders up in the shed and keep them out of the way. Very handy.

I had one of these for a bike. In theory they’re great, reality is a bit different.

Using it can be painful and tricky. Certainly not a storage solution for a bike you use regularly. You wouldn’t want to be using it daily.

You don’t get much space under the bike, bikes are deceptively tall.

You also want to be careful with what’s under the bike. Eventually you’ll make a mistake with hook positioning or uneven pulling and the bike will fall. I wouldn’t hang an expensive bike or have anything you can’t damage under it.

  • i wonder if u could use this for a kayak

    • i would think that would be to heavy for this to handle, but it depends on your kayak, ymmv
