First post, so go easy, but this is the cheapest I have seen these Hisense A6 units.
Limited availability by state for both TVs.

aren't they owned by the same company?
I didnt know that. What I know was that GG is in most cash back platform but not JB. Last Thurs Shopback did a 15% cash back deal, plus Coles ultimate gift card 15% bonus deal. The purchase price of the 70" TV plus the 3100 sound bar was $917, with the TV costing $606. Add in the cash back and gift card bonus, you can figure out the actual purchase price of the TV 😎
Didn't think cash back worked with purchases paid by gift card. Learn something new every day.
Also just got one for a family member.
Massive light bleed. Besides that, good value.
Best TV deal on ozbargain since the Panasonic plasma deals
I missed those, tell me about them!
"…they exist now only in my memory😔."
Actually a decent TV. Been using the 70" for a couple weeks now and im happy with it.
Very interesting and very annoying with that "Fast Power On" mode. So it's switching on faster (how much faster?) but doesn't apply user's settings?
Is the lip sync off on the Firestick only? Or the HDMI? Or for all inputs?
Also too bad re the dynamic backlight. Overall what's good about this TV?

The price lol. Nah, once you've made the changes above, theres no real issues with the TV.
Wouldn't recommend it for dark rooms as the blacks will look grey but in low-moderately lit rooms it looks fine.
Fast Power On makes the TV startup almost instantaneous. When switched off it displays the startup screen but its only a few more seconds. Not like the old 20+ second bootups when smart TVs first started coming out.
AFAIK the bug only affects the motion as everything else looks the same. The settings show correctly as you saved them but its obvious the motion has changed. You have to switch it to a different setting and back for it to be correct.
Only noticed the lip sync issue with the firestick but its no biggie. Just set the TV setting (if needed) and theres no more issues.
Picture quality and motion (once fixed) are really impressive especially from a TV in this price range.
As for the dynamic backlight, this is a poorly implemented feature in most budget TVs anyways. Trying to be local dimming without the technology.
You forgot the remote control.
It is terrible, to control catch up TV there is no fast forward or back buttons. To do this you have to press a button, to get an on screen version, that you then can use. Extremely cumbersome.
Other than that it’s a quite a good cheap TV
@RockyRaccoon: Ah yeah the remote is shocking. Also has a button for almost every streaming app. I just use the Amazon Firestick remote through CEC
Thank you, even if I don't buy it. Excellent help info!
I didn't think the A6KAU had smooth motion? The panel is only listed at 60HZ. The A7KAU is listed at 120Hz, so it would definitely have smooth motion?
60hz TVs have had smooth motion for like a decade+
I believe the A7K is 120Hz only at 1080p
To add to this - The plex app had all sorts of sound issues during playback, if you go into the app settings and turn off all the Sound settings except Dolby Atmos & Stereo, the sound and app runs fine.
UPDATE: Now I just keep Game Mode enabled for everything. No issues and Lip Sync can be set to default.
Nice price,thank you.
$59 for delivery. Make them unpack it and put it where you want it. And check there's no damage.
My postie is not even getting off his bike when he delivers mine.
A 70 inch television for $620. Blimey.
No stock in WA that I can see, maybe suggest an update to the title rather than negging?
Ain't it the way, though? :(
"Sorry, there is no stock of this product within 200km of your selected store."
Cry Me A River - Justin Timberlake
No stock in Melbourne either
Checked capital cities - only showing stock in Sydney, Canberra and Hobart
Damn. Just bought it last week at full price.
Can't find policy to get refund difference
did you buy it from JB? They will refund you. I bought a phone once and a week later went back to get the difference.
Even if you didnt buy it from JB, some retailers will be willing to refund you the difference, at least in the form of store credit. Doesn't hurt to ask.
No stock perth
JBHIFI with their clickbait sale… F_All stock.. nice
how many giftcards can you use in one transaction on jb-hifi?
If only Hisense would ditch their dead end VIDAA operating system and replace it with Google TV then I may consider them for a cheap TV.
I'm considering buying one and just plugging in my Chromecast with Google TV. Decent 4k screen with full functionality.
Agree I dislike it and rather not plug in a seperate google tv
Just snapped up the 85". Given it comes with 6 months kayo its a reasonable price.
Delivery is in over a month though :(
Grabbed one! Thank you!
Would you recommend getting like a google chrome cast or fire stick with this TV or would the internal offering suffice?
Thanks in advance!
Definitely go the Chromecast route - VIDAA OS sucks. Limited apps, can't remove a number of apps, home screen littered with TUBI free tv recommendations that I couldn't find out a way to turn off.
Thank you! Do you recommend the google chrome cast 4K or a fire stick?
Sorry, can't comment as I've only used a chromecast before
Just bought it from Amazon for $567 last week on prime day. Not bad for the price.
Did you get the 70" or 58" for the price?
58” and free shipping
I was looking at these last night, wouldn't the u7h range be better for a bit more due to having 200hz? These are only 60hz
refresh rate seems a bit low.
Good for the Xbox Series X?
From memory I don't think this model does 60fps at 120hz, but check the specs to be sure. If that is the case, though, you won't get the best out of your box.
No it really wouldn't be good for it.
Its fine for the Series X. You wont be getting 4k 120fps but do you really need it? TV has "Game Mode" which lowers the input lag and I've had no issues with it.
Of course its not as nice as my C2 OLED but I didn't even use 4k 120fps on that because the graphic tradeoff wasn't worth the frame bump.
I bought this Kogan 55inch 4k for 439+shipping - thought it was ok deal?

No stock in Newcastle area
No stock in the Melbourne area
Anyone have any ideas about the quality? 70'' for less than $700 is madness !!!
Have been using a Hisense for 4+ years no issues other than recently 2 out of 3 HDMI ports decided to retire. Worth mentioning that the VIDAA OS did not impress me, I would buy an android TV next time. YMMBD
Hi, does anyone know how the 70" performs in a sunny room? How is the reflection? Cheers
Link not found?
I think this is the link? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hisense-55-a7kau-4k-uhd-l…
Smart TV powered by VIDAA U6 with Amazon Alexa Built-in, what a turn off :(
A firestick and a cheap soundbar and your laughing…
What does people usually do with their not-that-old TV when all these TV deals coming up? Sell it through online marketplace or?
I grind my old TVs up and eat them.
You could give your TV to someone you know, sell it on Marketplace or donate it to ADRA.
Close to used prices lol
I just bought it last week at good guys using their 22% off combined with sound bar, worked out $2 cheaper than JB deal. So can't ask them to price match and refund difference. But damn, if you dont need sound bar this is a good deal.
