Would you trust an uber driver to deliver your new $2800 OLED in one piece?

  • +1

Wow… C3 was just released this year and already ~40% off
    55” - $1996

    • Yeah, not sure what’s going on with TV’s this year. 2023 models are being discounted much sooner than usual.

      • +1

        Recession coming

  • +7

Good Price now… but JB is getting worse than Gerry…
They hiked the price to $4295 when we had the 15% off sale and then the 22% off…
I noticed the same for all the Sony TVs which had a lower price at the 15% then a higher price for the 22% off sale…

    • Retail wars, Gerry strikes back.

    • Isn't it illegal to price jack? Or are you saying it was already $4295

    • +2

I feel like all these official partnered retailers is following the price that LG put on their website.. really annoying

      • My theory is that as manufacturers market more directly, retailers lose agency. Every company wants to be like Apple now where the prices are tightly controlled.

  • +1

this or wait for a 75/85 inch mini led deal?

    • You mean wait for a 77 inch OLED deal

  • Heads up if you are purchasing from HN. Purchased a 65 LG G3 in the last week sale with 22% if a LG soundbar included.

They did not honour the sale rejected the order. This was their reply.

In this instance your request to purchase has not been accepted and in accordance with section 5 (9) of our terms and conditions.

5.(9) Harvey Norman Online may, in its sole and absolute discretion, accept or reject any offer made by you for any reason (or no reason), including an error in the advertised price for, or description of, the products on the website, or an error in your Order.

    • +17

Your first mistake was even thinking of buying from HN.

      • +1

        Hardly 👏 Normal 👏

    • That's sad as, I also got rejected but they honoured my one, picking it up tomorrow. Bought it Sunday night emailed them and they got back to me Monday morning with the order confirmation to pick up.

Contemplating if I should refund the G3 and get the C3 instead, I'm not sure if it warrants a ~$770 difference…well minus the sound bar ~$500 difference 🤔

This is a pretty good price for a newly release LG.

      • +2

I would keep the G3. This year's latest tech Micro Lens Array is on the G3 and not passed on to the C3.

  • +2

    Good find OP.

Those willing to wait 5-6 months can prob save a cpl hundred but they historically haven't gone much below 2.5k for this generational model.

  • -2

Prices are going down pretty quickly this year
I found this amazing 77 A80K deal and tried price matching at Sony & HN. They didn't accept it, is JB a better store to check with?

    • +1

I don't think the C3 is much of an upgrade over the C2 compared to the C1/CS models.

      • +1

Which would you get, the C3 or the CS, at the above prices?

        • +7

For $900 less I would definitely get the CS. Most normies wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference.

          • @corgi-runner: I just upgraded from a c1 to a c3. The panel is brighter and the processor/os is much faster to navigate and start/apps. Ive gone from hating webos and the performance on the c1 to thinking its decent now on the c3, i still prefer google tv though.

    • +5

Wow eDozer looks shonky.. their address is a rural street in WA. ABN is registered to Judith Lawson for a registered business Household Bliss trading as Holistic Harmony.
No wonder Sony wouldn’t price match.

    • +1

Never heard of that site seems dodgy so doubt anyone would even bother price matching

  • 55 is cheaper than 42 ???

  • +1

Nice deal OP. Also : 6 months of Kayo Basic or Binge Standard included when you buy a 55" or above TV!

  • Getting C3 77" for 3.8k plus 10% cashback from cashrewards directly via corporate store. Wanted to get G3 for $4.5k but its out of stock. Samsung S95C is no where close to the C3 price.

Will mainly be using it for streaming and movie. Should I just go for C3?

    Cheers

    • +2

Wouldn’t even think twice. Would buy the C3 ASAP.

    • +1

if you have the $$ G series is better - aparantly new G3 is mint

    • +1

Consider the Samsung S90C. Picked it up for $2,656 today. The S95C isn’t worth the difference in cost if you can get it at that price. Both more vibrant than the C3. If I wanted an LG, the G3 is the sweet set this year, but not until significant reductions. As always, Sony reigns supreme in motion.

      • Was that 77"?

        • It was the 65. I don’t have the space for a 77.

          • +1

            @mblack77: Finally ordered the S90C 77 for $3796 (with discounted GC's) delivered.

      • Could you share where is $2,656 from? Thanks!

        • Sure. Appliance Central briefly discounted the S90C to $2,809, so I had JB Hi-Fi price match it, then paid for it with gift cards bought from Shopback. Add in a $10 coupon for joining the JB Hi-Fi members thing and that's the price it came out at. Delivered and installed this morning. Looking great. The trick is to watch AC as their prices go up and down almost daily. The S90C is currently at $3,090.

Is there anyway for general public to access the Jbhifi corporate store?

    • +1

I got a 77 c3 a month ago, upgraded from a 65 c1 that just wasnt big enough for the room it was in. The c3 is a good upgrade over c1. The panel is very good, the brightness has improved and the os/performace has improved a lot with the new processor. If your not a videophile the c3 is a really good oled imo that im really happy with. I cant imagine that the g3 would be a massive difference to the c3.

  • +1

man i bought C1 like 8 months ago for $2400 - what happened to the inflation on TV?> went opposite way

  • +1

Great deal. I bought a new OLED literally hours before this offer. I went with the Samsung S90C after JB Hi-Fi price matched Appliance Central for $2,809. Took a further $147 off with ShopBack gift cards. End price was $2,656 (actually the same as this deal after ShopBack).

Without wanting to start a tedious argument (I have zero brand loyalty) I’m happy choosing this over the C3, even at this price. Viewing side by side, the C3 is notably dimmer, and I don’t care enough about DV to not have it.

    • Nice price.

Was going to pull the same trick, but unfortunately Appliance Central seem to have raised the price to $3149.

      • Ah, that's frustrating. I've noticed prices go up and down almost daily on AC though - worth keeping an eye on.

        • +1

Will do, thanks for the tip.

  • +1

Amazing that this is so competitive in price with the Samsung mini-LEDs.
Very tempting but I currently have a C7 with two lines of permanent burn-in, and I think I'm a bit OLED-shy. Just as now, they said all the same things about burn-in never being a realistic issue when I bought that one too…

    • I'd never give up on OLED blacks

      • In a light controlled room they win on picture quality hands down. And even in average light I never thought my C7 lacked brightness for most use cases.
But I now have a <6 year old $3000 TV that needs to be replaced despite being incredibly cautious about burn in. Once bitten etc etc

        • +3

Pretty sure burn-in is claimable under ACCC. You could make an argument even though your TV is 6yo. I've heard others have similar stories and been successful with a panel replacement

          • +1

@Faro: Just got the full purchase price 2.9K credit for a 5 year old LG Fridge just today. I’ve been super happy with their customer service.

If I had an OLED with burn in that was 5-6 years old I’d be giving it my best with LG support.

        • Just an update: LG refusing to repair/replace despite me linking to a claim made in 2016 by LG that their OLEDs would last 100,000 hours (and a press release in Aus that it would be 30k) - mine is 10k.
          Don't buy an OLED chaps.

    • This is my concern I want an OLED but I’ve heard some stories from mates about burn in and worst stories online. I was thinking of settling for a Sony Bravia Full array 4K UHD TV - it’s cheaper and I think risk of burn in is almost zero.. but I’m assuming LED might also have its own issues

      • As an aside, you only really hear about the bad experiences online - plenty of OLEDs are sold that never experience problems.
The other thing is that people report problems on their 5yo/5 generation old OLEDs, the technology has come a long way

        • +1

I have a B7 and no issues. More than 5.5 years old. That’s older tech and in use for a long time now.

  • i got the cs 65inch few months back $1950.
this is not a bad price.
pc gaming none stop with mine. its my new monitor.
    just get it,

    • +3

Yeah good price but CS link is dead.

  • +2

Prices will continue to crash all year if you can wait. No supply issues but much reduced demand thanks to the RBA and Federal Reserve.

  • +2

The quality of the C-tier this year is far below the quality of the G-tier. Far lower than normal.

    • +1

It’s important to note though that the difference is in an improvement to the new gen G and not a drop off in quality of the new gen C, and is clearly reflected in the current price variation between the two series

  • +2

    CS link is dead?

  • WOW that cs is gone. that was quick. no more. everywhere no stock.

  • impressive price for the CS, paid $3k back in january for one!

  • Just a BG’s tip: check LG VIP website and use your unique knock and win promo code (if you participated previously) which it’s a min >10% off ;)

I managed to get a 30% off promo code which turns out cheaper than JB

    • I got a 50% off spin and win a few months ago on the lg website, i got a 77 c3 for $3200, awesome deal to look out for when it runs.

  • Could anyone please share with me the exact model number of the expired cs 65inch TV? I am struggling to figure out which one is it. thanks.

    • OLED65CSPSA

$2790 at Appliance Central for the 65 Inch.

Got JB to price match with free Delivery.

    • You had JB match the free delivery as well? Nice one! They added delivery to mine.

      • Thanks!
I tried the Website chat first, they said we can't do free delivery but knock off $20 off the price and still pay the $59 for Delivery.

Called my local store, after checking they said no problem, we will match appliances online and free delivery.

  • So this or this - Sony 65" A80L Bravia XR OLED? https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/sony-65-a80l-bravia-xr-ol…
