Bought one of these at twice the price a few months ago, great stand for the price, even better at $32.

same ive been using one for over a year paid about $65. no issues although i find it struggles to freely hold a bike by the seatpost (at least my 12kg gravel bike)

      • +1

I had one of these and returned as I found that having a clamp that you can lever shut with one hand (instead of screw shut) is much easier when you are lifting the bike up with the other hand to position the seat post in the clamp.

tried to buy one appears to be OOS

been using one that looks very similar for years, works well, although I really wish they had a quick tightening levers as opposed to a twisty knob, while you're balancing a heavier bike to get on the stand, it feels like forever as you are twisting the knob to secure it. for $32 though, great price.

Wow this is so cheap! I would get this design instead though https://www.amazon.com.au/CXWXC-Mechanic-Maintenance-Aluminu…

L shaped legs allow to hower over them and not trip.

Or buy this for a lot less & mind your step haha.

I was not looking for a bargain this is the first one I found in this design.

          OzFirstOneWithTheDesignIWant.com.au?

          • @schquid: This is not an argument and I am certainly not going to search a bargain for anyone, I have a nice stand in the design above which I bought about 10 years ago, after being dissapointed with the design "on the spider legs".
Bunnings stand may be cheap, but it is $30 wasted if the legs get in the way.

            • @Musiclover: I reckon the locking arm rotation on yours is worth the extra on its own. That's a great feature if you're clamping seat posts rather than the frame, or working on the drivetrain and don't feel like getting bike-elbowed every time you crank it.

    • Got one. Works well enough, but still painful to get the bike on and keep it in place. Most of the time I get by with a very basic stand that the back section of the frame drops into. Good enough to work on the rear wheel, and tip upside down for work on the front.

(That said, every now and again this frame is the perfect thing - if you have n+1 bikes, this frame or the bunnings ones will be worthwhile)

…or for anyone with a tow bar bike rack.
Reverse the car up, chuck the bike rack on, then throw the bike on the rack while you work on it. Happy days 😎

Landlord said to stop parking in the house

      • You do have the option to work on it outside :)
But can see how this would be good if you're in an apartment block.

      • Why stop now, just send it YOLO!

      • Take it out when there over for inspection, and put it back in every other time lol - had similar troubles with bike, and all sorts of stuff. They just picky little shits probably keep same crap in their house. - I've even seen someone keep a motorcycle inside a rental with wooden polished floorboards haha

Looks very similar to one I got from Aldi a few years ago which has been great for the few times I've used it. I think I paid $40 at the time, so this would be great deal.

PSA as I've heard some horror stories: if you have a carbon-framed bike don't clamp it like in the photos - use the seatpost instead!

    • +2

I also got mine from Aldi a few years ago. Have been really happy with the quality of the stand. It doesn't see as much use as it used to as I only use it for maintenance, have a freestanding double stack bike rack indoors for storage, but it's holding up really well.

I know a couple of people that have the stand in the post and it's almost identical to the one that I have from Aldi (presumably the same one as you). Would gladly recommend.

    • I have bought two from aldi. Aldis is better. Comes with blocks so you can mount to post or wall without tripod. Then you can make an assembly stand using tripod, QR skewer, BB mount and tube etc.

Bought both on clearance for $20 & $30.

  • can we use this to record overhead video, attaching the mobile phone?

  • Legend! Been meaning to buy one of these for ages.

If you haven't needed one so far, then why buy it now?

      • Cuz it's on sale?

      • -1

Never said they didn't need it.

  • Thanks OP, purchased for pick-up.

30kg weight rating! Pretty good for $30!

    • -1

      And also unrealistic.

      • what are you talking about? how many bikes weigh more than 30kg?!?

it's perfectly "realistic" to know your bike holder is rated to 30kg, when the bike doesn't weigh anywhere near as much. shows it'll be stable!

        • prob more that it wont do a good job holding a bike that heavy, particularly if clamping seat post. my 27KG ebike I would highly doubt could be used with one of these (in fact I never even bothered to try with mine)

        • Being usable anywhere near 30kg is completely unrealistic, even 15kg wouldn't be particularly stable .

    • That's great, the kid can hold the bike and the stand can hold the kid. I'll get fewer paint scuffs this way. Plus the kid gets more moxie.

  • Can't do delivery to TAS

    Thank you.

  • Just received a text from Bunnings that the C&C order in Epping was cancelled due to no stock.

    • +1

I tried Epping as well and got that same text.

Oh well. Didn't really need it anyway.

      • Tried my luck again in Footscray West, I could really use one.

      Classic Bunnings!

I wish I was as relaxed about life as Bunnings is about stocktaking.

Good luck finding one near you!

    • epping, vic shows 7 in stock. But got an SMS they are out of stock… any additional tips? like physical visit to store?

      • +2

        physical visit to store?

There's a zero chance it's going to increase the number of items they have.

But you can try and go from store to store asking. Because those stock levels shown in the internet are not reliable.

        • +1

thank you .. if the stock levels are not reliable, then there is no point visiting..

  • had mine cancelled and they will refund in 5 business days

  • Thanks OP great deal!

  • i bought this full price many years ago. does what it is suppose to, no complaints. still have it, but i don't use it as much now a days

  • My local had two in stock apparently
Now sold out and unavailable to buy online, click and collect or delivery and not available in store.

    • Now its sorry we hit a snag….

  • Anyone know if the tool tray is meant to have an additional bit to clamp it on the stem? Mine is just the semi-circle cut-out with the couple of screws seemingly unable to fix it to the post alone…

    • Yeah, it should come with a semi-circle of plastic to attach to the other side with the bolts.
