    • Cancel and rebook if future booking. I also picked up one a fortnight ago but will do it for next two bookings i have

      • I thought there is always cancellation fee. Might have to read up on my term and condition again

  • Sorry just curiosity why do you hire car regularly

Take a hint from my profile photo 😌

  • I never rent a car without using a discount code or through a cheaper third party website, reckon I'd usually save more than 15%

    • Its mainly for work related bookings if you get a reimbursement. Otherwise yes i use codes for private bookings

      • Work reimburses you the full price, you get the cashrewards, bobs your unlce

    • Where do you get the codes normally? Looking for hire in the US

    • I have corporate discount with Avis. Plus Cash rewards. Double win as my corp discount is better than any discount code or third party site.

      • Would the Cashrewards still pay out if a corporate rate code is on the booking?

          Always has for me.

  • I priced this yesterday and even with 15% off found 11 day hire cheaper elsewhere. Still worth shopping around.

    • As i said above, it makes sense for a business booking. Reimbursed for the costs. Qantas points. And supercharged cashback. It may not apply if you are covering the cost. They had a few coupons which made the bookings super cheap a couple of months ago but they have not come around lately.

Do you guys take out the extra cover to lower or even remove the excess totally?

If so with the rental company or a third party?

    • I use my credit card with rental car insurance. Check that option.

      • Yeah but you still pay the full amount to the rental and then claim it back from your credit card insurer.

        • That's true. I have ANZ black card and excess is $100 now with up to $5000 cover. I had to use it once only for a $550 repair and the process was smooth.

  • Does anyone have hire car codes for car hire in Europe? Any company is fine. Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask!

  • Other companies much cheaper i went with rental cars .com through cash rewards with 10% cash back. Found it cheaper through one of their suppliers ace rentals.
