$4/Week for 4 Weeks Gym Membership (+ $16 Upfront Fee, $69 Global Card Access Fee) @ Snap Fitness (New Members Only)

123

Hi all, was just looking at getting a gym membership I'll definitely use and found this on the Snap Fitness website.
$4 a week for 4 weeks. Looks like it's an Australia-Wide deal, seems pretty good. Unfortunately, they're pretty sparse on details but it doesn't seem to be part of any kind of contract. No expiry date mentioned. I've just filled out the form so will update with more details when I can.

Yeah I remember that for my time at Snap. All these other gyms has this nice little fob for entry that they could stick on their keys and I was stuck with this ugly card I had to carry on me when training.

    • Its key fob and joining fee.

    • Was $49 for key fob for me too! And i got this like 4 weeks ago… they must have just recenty increased it

Looks like ill be using prepaid card with exactly $16 on it .

      • They may still send your account to collections, be careful doing this.

        • +5

But there is no contract. After 4 weeks ill say not interested in writing by email.

"Thank you for providing me the opportunity to trial your esteemed gym for 4 weeks for a total of $16.

With deep regret, i wish to inform you that i will no longer continue my membership beyond this period.

          Regards
          EC"

  • Regular price, at least my nearest club, is $17.95 on a 12 month membership and $19.95/wk for a month to month. On the pricey end of gym memberships.

100$+ joining & access card fee on top

Negging Snap for misleading advertisement and absence of T/Cs on their website

ditto. these scam gyms need to get lost

    Goodlife are doing $16.99/w.

for snap fittness the recurring access and joining fee waived offer is better
    4+4+4+4+16+69=101
    compare to the recurring offer
    ~$20x4=80

  • Entertainment app has $100 fee off. Not sure how does that works. Anyone tried it ?

    • Same question. I'm planing to find out my self this week

      • and?

        • My local snap said that likely to take off the registration fee from the full-price membership (looks like he has never heard of it until I showed him) and can't stack with this or any offers.

For this deal, he said $139 then $19.9/W after, slighter more than Anytime ($17.99/W), CBJ ($731/Y), World ($729/Y). Derrimut ($283/Y) is the cheapest but my local Derrimut is no longer 24/7.

Snap they have lots of locations accessible without extra fees which is good if I like to try new varieties, probably for later.

  • I don't think this is a good deal but I'd consider switching from Good Life if it had more male oriented classes like boxing, martial arts etc.

  • Rubbish Gym to deal with. Would choose an alternative gym if i were you.

Im not surprised someone else called them out for midleading and false advertising. I had a bad experience with a scooping deal, where the manager promised to refund the access card fee once the short term deal finished.

Pity they don't have a site within 45min of me, or at least one that doesn't attract a toll charge.

  • Derrimut $213 for year

    • I pay $299 @ Crunch for 16 months
From 27/7 , can access all crunch gyms

      • Nice deal! Is that nationwide or only a certain Crunch location?

        • $299 is Founder membership rate

Access to all gyms is worldwide from 27/7 for all membership tiers

    • $213 + $79 rego fee

  • Wholesale price for blank fob at between $2 to $5 & Gym manager activate for new user with one click. $69 is little too much.

IMHO Annual fees, Joining fees, Fob fees are discouraging factor for one to take the first step and join the gym. Nevertheless it is a business so I get it.

    • $69 so that when they offer you for free (which they do rather regularly) its like they have given you a freebie worth $69
