Not as good as prime day sales, but it's ok. I picked this up for $1160, but with 4TB HDD.

    • @h0dl, I am looking to buy one too. the amazon prime one was 800D8, right? and this one is 820D8. I am waiting for 842 or 1200D8 come on a deal. Any suggestions?

      • Yes it's labelled as 800d but I believe they send out 820d as the 800d is discontinued. But I'm not 100%. They are coming tomorrow, I'll find out then. Tbh I don't know that much about all models to provide advise. I found this deal on amazon and it had everything I wanted at a good price.

        • I just started looking at these cameras since the Prime deal and skipped the Amazon as it was 800D as the Reolink website said it's discontinued. I hope they post you 820D then it's a great deal. Good luck!!!

@Sval: Hope so too! The product on amazon is sold by reolink, worst case I'll just send it back. Will provide an update tomorrow

            • @h0dl: No good, I just recieved them and they are d800. Does that mean that these are refurbished? Will probably return

              • +1

@h0dl: Don't think they would be refurbished, probably old stock. However, I saw a review on Youtube of some nerd installing the RLK16-800D8 (the one from Amazon) and at the 27:30 min mark he talks about the motion detection saying that it picks up any movement, and suggested the RLK16-820D8-A had inbuilt AI to differentiate between just any motion and that of a car, person etc. So that would probably be the better one to get if you want to utilise more accurate motion detection. Otherwise the RLK16-800D8 seems fine if you not to fussed about accuracy of motion alerts.

                • @Mercina: Thanks for your comment. Yep, that's enough for me to return them.

                  • @h0dl: @h0dl- hope there will be a deal on the latest model soon.

  • Good cameras, good NVR.
Your discount makes it about the same price (within $75) as this can be bought on aliexpress (though there you can get a 4TB hd in the NVR).

  • Inflate RRP by 50%…offer 30% discount….Win!

  • @dealbest how long is this site sale running? I'm out at the moment but would be keen to have a look and buy tomorrow?

  • @dealbest - Any idea when will RLC-1224A camera system be available in Australia ?

  • My understanding of these bundle model kits
All cameras must be on same subnet / vlan?

Ie i cannot put some cameras at home and some cameras with the nvr at the office?

    • You want cameras at home to be recording into NVR at office ? do you have enough upload to support that ?

      • Yes
But do they allow layer 3 setup

        • +1

From previous comments on reddit etc they don't have their own UID and require direct plugin to NVR.

@dealbeat Any other camera recommendations under $1000 mark which includes Person/Vehicle/Pet Detection?
I am ok with 6 pcs instead if 8.

    • +2

RLK8-820D4-A then buy 2 more RLC-820A's if you need 6 cameras total.
With a good sale you get get all that for under $1k.
I have this set up and recommend it.

  • What's best portable system? With most flexible storage option?

  • Where do people put so many cameras? Are they putting some of them inside the house too?

    • +2

Even a rectangular house with just 4 corners can take all 8 with back to back cameras on each corner. Two cameras covering the same area gives you redundancy and prevents someone being able to walk up behind a camera and disable it without being recorded. When you start buying cameras you quickly realize you need/want more.

      • @Elyxar I see now, the cameras must have at least 180 degrees vision or more, this does sound like it is a much more secure setup. Thanks for explaining.

I have 15 Cameras. Each corner of the house has 2 (back to back), 1 in my alfresco, 1 in my driveway, 1 in the porch, 1 on the doorbell, 3 in the garage.

      • You better get another for the toilet

errr, can I have 2 joints, 1 pink pill and other good stuff please, cash payment

      • @Lord Fart Bucket
I see how it must really start to add up, especially when some cameras are back to back. You definitely seem to have everything covered!
