      • Give your eyes a chance.

        • i didnt imagine Kogan would bring out an OLED lol

    Kogan make OLED’s?!

    • +1

They don't, China made cheap TV, you can put any brand on it.

      • Just out of curiosity do you know what brand these TVs rebadge?

        • +1

If you buy it from China locally, you can ask them to buy whatever brand on it XD

the 40 inch led i just bought from kogan has worse image quality then the same model i purchased about 5 years ago.

    • Does this mean that the 5 year old one was just average or was it already cr@99y?

      • +1

the original one had a decent picture and was well and truely good enough for a kitchen tv, the new one is horrendous compared to it

    • You must be rich.

    60Hz 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮

  • HDMI 2.1 missing? Is that right?

    • +1

      From their specs page: 1920 x 1080 @120Hz & 3840 x 2160 @60Hz. HDMI 2.0 will run both resolutions at those framerates, you only need HDMI 2.1 for 2560x1440/4k@120hz, or 8k@60.

Sounds like a rebranded lower spec LG panel, something like the A or B series OLEDs, based on the resolution and frequency mix, and 150 cd/m² average brightness.

Although BOE or one of the other chinese manufacturers might be making the panel they're more likely to be making QD OLEDs cause it'll scale out to be much cheaper than the WRGB OLED LG uses (also why Samsung is doing the inkjet printable QD OLED panels)

      • WOW,thank you so much for the information!

  • whenever I do e-waste runs to the tip, the bins are always full of Kogan and Aldi TVs.

    • probably older gen one, like $h!t one I got from 2017

newer ones should be okay i think (for about 2-3 yrs before their system stop supporting latest youtube etc. (when you would need a google chromecast or something like that - which is what I do )

I have never seen a Kogan TV last more than 6 months and never seen someone get a refund for one in under 3 months.

I had one for 2 years. Bought off facebook marketplace for $20 as it had bluescreened. Reflashed the firmware and it worked well for 18 months till the motherboard died. The next week i saw the exact same tv in hard rubbish (with a smashed screen) did a board transplant and got another 6 months out of it.

      So yeah, not very liable

    • Mine is still going on since 2017, but TV itself is very slow and android on it is too low version (cannot downloads apps etc.)

Had to once pay kogan $20 (for shipping) to get it to factory reset - for some reason it didn't like reset TV once in like 2019 or 2020. But otherwise works still good -with the google chromecast plugged in. - that being said we hardly ever use TV so hrs used is very low.
